You can travel to Sioux Falls or Sanford (I think that's the name of the town where the arena is located). I saw the team at the airport this morning. They fly commercial. The Sanford Pentagon is located Sioux Falls, it is owned and operated by Sanford Health.

Nebraska opens as a 7 point fav over the Beavs for tomorrow's 1pm appetizer. I know that it is basically a home game for Nebraska, but Nebraska has only played Florida A&M, Rider, and Stony Brook. And Nebraska was basically the 13th-best team in the Big Ten last year.

Nebraska was tied for 11th at 9-11/16-16 in the 2nd toughest conference. OSU 11th at 5-15/10-21 in the 6th ranked conference. Nebraska's ELO, SOS, and NET (far better) are better than OSU early on. Complete data matters. Nebraska is by far and away the best team OSU has faced. While OSU will be another Q4 RPI level team for Nebraska. Early on for all that stat stuff. But, as of now "lowly" Rider ranks ahead of undefeated OSU.

That said, I don't think we match up very well with NU.

And Nebraska was basically the 13th-best team in the Big Ten last year. That’s a good thing then right? Sounds like you can make some easy money betting on the Beavers. And if you’re like me who doesn’t plan to bet on the game, not sure why you would give two shakes about the spread. Line makers’s only goals are to pick a number that will A) entice people to bet and B) have those bets as evenly distributed between the two teams. That said as someone who saw both of the teams play more than a handful each last season, I think Nebraska would have beat the Beavers. They weren’t a bad team at all and were much more competitive in the tough B1G than the previous couple of seasons. I haven’t seen Nebraska yet this year, but on paper I see a couple of matchups that favor Nebraska. I think size is on the side of Nebraska and they are much more experienced than the Beavs. Hopefully WT and the team can find a way to overcome all that.

Well things could get mighty ugly on Wednesday when the Beavers take the court against #15 Baylor. The good news is they lost 3 of their top scorers from last year’s team that lost in the second round of tourney. They also haven’t played against much this year, so maybe scoring 88 or higher in 3 out of 4 of their contests isn’t meaningful. Wouldn’t bet on it though, and can’t see much in the way of good news other than they’re relatively young.
That last piece of good news might mean more if they hadn’t brought in a top 10 recruiting class. The class was led by top 10 recruit Ja’Kobe Walter, a 6-5 guard. So far he is living up to that ranking, leading the team in scoring with 18 ppg and hitting 39% from 3 on nearly 6 attempts per game. Fellow frosh Yves Missi was a top 50 recruit from Jordan Pope’s alma mater Prolific Prep. The 7 footer averages 8.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.8 bpg and 1.5 spg in just 19.5 mpg.
First-year transfers play important roles on this Bears team. Guard Jayden Nunn came over from VCU, and he seems to be fitting in quite well shooting 54.5% from 3 on his way to nearly 15 ppg. RayJ Dennis has come in as a grad transfer after spending 2 years at Boise St followed by 2 at Toledo. The PG has had some turnover problems early on averaging 4.3 per game with 7 in his first game. Still he’s managed to average 12.8 ppg on 56% shooting while dishing out 5.5 apg.
Returnees Langston Love off the bench, senior starter Jalen Bridges and 6-10 soph Josh Ojianwuna round out the key portion of their rotation. The 3 combined average 24.6 ppg and 13.3 rpg.
Overall height and length of the opponent will again be an issue for the Beavers, especially because their bigs look to be more talented than the Beavs duo of KC and Chol. Win here would be a huge upset. Heck given that the Huskers scored 82 yesterday, holding Baylor under 100 might be a chore. But, hey, Beavers only lost by 3 to the last ranked nonconference opponent, so hope springs eternal right?

It is likely be the 3rd/4th best team (I'm assuming it will be Pitt as FL has looked pretty good early with a very close loss to Virginia on the road) OSU faces all year behind UCLA & Arizona. Early on Baylor has a very impressive neutral court win over what is supposed to be a good Auburn team. Hoping for a respectable loss.

At this juncture, a respectable loss might be the best we can hope for. Or maybe Baylor’s RayJ Dennis might feel he owes me — Illini were in big for him this summer and looked like he might come home (he’s from Illinois) before he chose Baylor — and gift the Beavers with 7 or more turnovers.
