Just saw this from a site on May... May is a fantastic athlete on the mound with a really quick arm and the stuff to support it. The fastball has been up into the high 90s and he throws a big, sweeping slider as his go-to secondary. There's a changeup in there too, though his feel for the pitch comes and goes. May is two years removed from Tommy John Surgery and just starting to get back all the velo he had in high school. He's got the makings of a high-leverage reliever with an upper-90s fastball and a firm, future upper-80s slider. He might be a great get. But over on Beaversedge it mentioned the opponent batting average against him was .314. That's not so good.

Just looking at home vs away ERA it looks like he was actually worse outside of Arizona too. I give him benefit of the doubt since this is his first full season back after surgery. He has the Velo and is more effective than Quinn so if you look at it as a roster exchange for Quinn its pretty good.

Arizona isn’t a slouch team. He could have finished his career there and done nicely for himself, but he believes we can help him perform and compete better. He believes in the Beavs. I say, welcome aboard, young man!

He has the Velo and is more effective than Quinn so if you look at it as a roster exchange for Quinn its pretty good. One of Aiden May's starts was in Corvallis: 6 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 9 K, and 1 2B. May left up 7-2. The bullpen gave up nine in an 11-10 loss.
The first run was a four-pitch walk to Bazzana to start the game, a Bazzana steal, and an RBI base hit by Forrester. After that he settled: 6 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 9 K, and 1 2B.
The one double was Forrester's next at bat. By the time that he left, May had struck out each Beaver in the lineup other than Forrester and Smith, striking out McDowell and Kasper twice. Dernedde and Smith also each grounded into double plays.
If May can pitch that well in Corvallis every time, he's going to have a great season.

He's from Missouri - and he only pitched 7-2/3 innings for OSU in two seasons, so it makes sense. Missouri had a relatively small number of underclassmen on their 2023 pitching staff and they have "new" pitching coach for 2024, so there should be opportunity. Their new pitching coach is former Mizzou head baseball coach Tim Jamieson (1995-2016).

Isaiah Burke, a JC Catcher from Mt. Hood C.C. had a brief fling with OSU last fall, has now transferred to New Mexico State.

D-1 Baseball has completed their ranking of "Top 130 Transfers".
As expected, the SEC dominated, but the Beavs did fine, far outshining other PAC schools.
OSU snagged the #15 rated (Aiden May) and #24 (Elijah Hainline).
The next best PAC 12 school in terms of acquisition ranking was UO (#60 & #110).
None of the Beavers exiting the program made the "Top 130"

Boisvert will pitch for Utah Valley next year. Good coach with an up and coming young program. He'll help that team - I wish him success next year. D-1 BB is certainly big on Boisvert: "Transfer Braden Boisvert (Oregon State) has turned heads this fall and he might pitch at the top of this rotation. The 6-foot-1, 225-pound righthander touches 95 with a plus slider. His four-pitch mix is more than adequate for a starting role. Boisvert is a fifth-year senior, and he made 25 appearances for the Beavers over the last two seasons. A big season from this Arizona native would be huge given that UVU needs to replace two of their 2023 weekend starters." UVU plays a lot of common opponents with the Beavs (U. Portland, as well a typically a few PAC-12 teams).
