The following players have entered the Transfer Portal according to. D1 baseball.com:
Victor Quinn David Grewe Justin Thorsteinson Braden Boisvert TJ Wheeler Ely Kennel Isaiah Burke
Looks like we’re making room for the incoming class and potentially some transfers.

Well, this incoming class is pretty fantastic. I'm a little surprised about Kennel. Other than that, not shocking.
It'll be interesting to see what happens with guys like Jaren Hunter and Joey Mundt. Maybe we are able to bring them back to get healthy. I was sort of assuming they were gone.

Always sad to see guys leave but they were the two least used batters and the four least used pitchers (not counting Kreig's 4 IP) this year. And I'm not even sure what Burke's status is, his name has been kicked around here for awhile.

Poor Wheeler. He was on the fast track to becoming a mainstay in the lineup when he suffered that awful injury and he wasn't the same. Really hope he can find a different kind of success in a less competitive club.
I can't say I'm sorry to see some of those pitchers leave. They weren't making the progress that they needed to be a factor on the team.

Speaking of portal transfers, I just looked out of curiosity and Fuchs ended the year with a dismal .157 batting average. Only 1 home run on the year (against us if you don't remember). I hope he found the experience worthwhile, but I doubt it panned out the way he had hoped.

I could see Kennel at Corban, or George Fox.

He had an incredible HS senior season: .075 opponent batting average against, and no earned runs in 15 games. He parlayed that into changing his college commitment in June 2021 from Division III Whitworth to OSU, with an assist from Jorge Reyes. And now I suspect he'll get the opportunity at a less elite program than OSU to finish his college career on a positive note. His experience at OSU should help him in that regard. His best outing this season was his final one (a one inning appearance vs. Western Carolina - 10 pitches, 0 Hits, 0 BB, 1 SO).

So skinny and he went from 84-85 to touching 91 in just over one year. I figured he might have had more in the tank, but I guess not.
If all the draft eligible guys move on, we would be losing around 350 innings from this years staff. We must be going after a couple bigger transfers. Because relying on the freshmen coming in could get interesting.

I was disappointed that the difference between last year's Boisvert and Thorsteinson and this year's wasn't very significant. Neither really stepped up unfortunately. We could have used them.

I heard Kennel was in the dog house. Or was that it was a dog house? Never mind.

Is there a rumor mill for who might come to OSU via the portal? Or is that unknown until it happens?
