Her grandma tells me she wants to go to Oregon State....close to home. Like I said, she'll find someplace better than Arkansas. Hopefully she gets to make her own decision. Many don't.

Where is her Father in all this? Me thinks he will have major input. Is there something I'm missing in Rueck's relationship with her or her family I'm not aware of ?

Have zero knowledge of SR and her dad's relationship. I do know SR has had to deal with... hmmmm... let's go with over involved parent(s) before. If you've been around Ryan or see his "involvement" you'd see he can be tough to stomach at times. But, the key is that she's not a D1 player at this time. She's small, slight, doesn't play against elite talent. At this time she is a shooter with a low release. Landing local talent is great. But, at this point she's more Mannen than Don. Others who've also watched her may have a differing opinion. Two years is a long time. Neighbors offered, but that's done for "potential" players everyday. Roster turnover... new recruit interest, the portal will make a 2027 offer pretty meaningless. Except for social media posts!

Doesn’t need to be D1 ready today at 15 years old. Just a shooter has to be a joke, going after parents on forums… Arkansas doesn’t offer Noelle Mannen type players, especially as freshmen in HS. It is the nature of Internet forums to have people who love to post negatively, however I can promise you that there is nothing negative to post about this kid. Stacks of evidence to the contrary. She also loves the Beavs so maybe just move on to another subject about Beavers athletics unless you have something to add that doesn’t make you seem angry and vindictive. Where she ends up, we’ll find out in 2 and a half years. Kids that work like her, only get better and better. There are two girls in the 2027 Oregon class with power 4 offers. Oregon puts out anywhere from 8 to 15 division one girls per year. It’s pretty clear she is a division one prospect.

And, in your reply you actually substantiate some of my post. Care to share the vindictive portion? Do you think every parent, relative that has had interactions with your brother feels positively? He'd then be the only camp coordinator or coach to ever have every player and parent never complain. Thicken the skin Unc. If your niece progresses to be a D1 player this message board is tame compared to others! Go Beavs

Payton Starwalt just picked up a WCC conference offer from St Mary’s and was ranked the #1 2027 prospect in Oregon and #52 2027 in the country.

Quick update on Payton.
She’s got 7 division one scholarship offers now, was ranked the #1 player in the 2027 Oregon class by prep girls hoops, #52 player in the country for the 2027 class by jr girls all stars, ranked the #7 point guard in the 2027 class.
Had unofficial visits to Oregon, Portland, Cal, St Mary’s , Montana, Pacific, Sacramento State, Portland State, this fall.
Oregon State has been recruiting her and she’ll likely have an unofficial there this winter at some point.
I wouldn’t worry too much about the current state of the program, kids know that the staff is going to figure out a great plan going forward. This years roster, never had a chance with the 8 girls leaving. Couldn’t plan for that.

However, "the current state of the program" is going to be with us for quite a while. This year, barring Divine Intervention, is going to be miserable for everyone around the program. And you're totally right about "we never had a chance with 8 girls leaving."
But unless some kind of truly significant talent infusion hits Gill before next October, the 25/26 season is not going be dramatically better than this one. The 26/27 season should be incrementally better, but again, unless Big Time recruiting takes place, it will not resemble the good teams we've seen at Gill in the past decade...
Now, if by "the staff is going to figure out a great plan going forward," you mean showing impressive results in 27/28 or 28/29 - then you may be right...
However, a quick study of geriatric demographics should clearly indicate to you that about 10-15 % of the fans who currently attend WBB games will either be in Assisted Living or in their Grave by the time the 28/29 season rolls around. So, the consolation of future greatness is appreciated by some more than others.
Other than that, I'm completely with you. GO BEAVS!!

All I can tell you is that the guy in charge has proven that he knows how to win. Nobody is winning with his current roster but his current roster (similar to football) is not totally his fault and in coach Rueck’s case, really not his fault at all. They just don’t have enough talent and are now playing a lot of kids that would not have made any Pac12 rosters. Now that they have a feel for what the future looks like, they can develop a recruiting strategy that will get the type of players he wants. I would expect them to be working incredibly hard to have a great 2026 & 2027 class to make sure that they are ready to make their run in the new pac12. These next two years are going to be challenging to find the ability to see the positives at times but the Oregon state fan base will show up for winning teams and I expect the 2026-2027 Oregon state beavers wbb team to be legit and well coached!

Rueck hasn't been helped by the churn of assistant coaches.
