www.boards.rebkell.net/viewtopic.php?t=93800It goes without saying that this would be unacceptable behavior. I would not tolerate it if any fan in my vicinity were spewing racial garbage at opposing players after the game. I would personally confront them and have event security give them the boot. If it is true we need to find out who it was and bar them from Gill for however many years it takes until they’ve grown up and can behave in public. We don’t need that kind of person in Gill. Edit: I see that Minyon Moore has now removed those accusatory tweets from her twitter page.

We didn’t even play Utah in Corvallis this year. “Stories” is about right.

Sickening IF true. Sadly, I wouldn't doubt it. I have NO reason to doubt it. Lately...racists have become emboldened, and feel encouraged to show off their ignorance and hatred. I can't imagine WHY....The university needs to be proactive about this, and nip it in the damn bud. This type of thing can fester and cause real problems.

Racists maybe... but there is a entire effing section of nonracists, if behind the bench coaches... one that is of color, security... If it happened more than once the entire section around the offender(s) should be banned.

It is a serious accusation and should be investigated seriously. SC players need to be interviewed and go on the record, provide descriptions, the actual language, time of game and location in the stands of the responsible racist turds.

And the biggest concentration of game security personnel (along with behind the visitors bench) in the entire building. Odd.

I feel it unlikely that this happened. Namely because after the games, win or lose, the team has a huddle at mid-court to a chat with Rueck, then they wave to the fans in the stands to thank them for attending.
After this huddle there is the eight-minute mingle where the players, coaches, and basketball staff stay on the court to greet the fans, sign autographs, and pose for pictures. Coach Ely always stays in front of the Beavers bench, so if there were any derogatory comments made, he would hear them.
As another poster already pointed out, players families--and Scott's parents--sit behind the Beavers bench. I have also noticed that President Ray sits in that area when he attends the games. (I didn't look for him today, so I don't know if he was there.) Also sitting in the area for today's game were Sydney, Deven, Ali, Alissa, and Katie Schrock (I know that is not right, but is as close as I can get). I would be very surprised if they heard anything that they would not make sure it is addressed immediately.
It also seems odd that Ms. Simons would come up from the locker rooms in the basement, run diagonally across the court (their locker room would be across the court and at the opposite end of the Beavers bench), to confront a fan.
Not saying it didn't happen, or it couldn't happen, but would be VERY surprised if it did happen.

At the end of the game you have most of the event security as well as Oregon State police on the floor, a bunch of officials to keep order. I wonder if any of them heard anything. Today I'd have been more concerned for the refs , but if these accusations are found to be true it is truly disturbing. They say "come out from locker room to confront fans behind the beaver bench". I'm not sure this makes any sense

It’d be really interesting to know if he was still on the floor when Kristen Simon came back on the court from downstairs, had her confrontation and was led back to the locker room by SC staff.

I just watched the highlights on the Pac-12 website. At the end of the video shows the crowd on the court for the mingle. I didn't see a single person still in the seats behind the bench. So just whom was Ms. Simon charging towards?

I missed this incident by a matter of seconds. As I was heading to the men's room, a group of USC players rushed past me towards the court. I saw Mark Trakh and another USC player trying to calm #35 down. She was sobbing, saying, "I hate this place. Damn racist assholes".
I also heard someone mutter, "It wasn't racist." And there was at least three security people at the scene. My impression at the time was that someone probably jibed at #35 for having fouled out and she took it as a racial slur. In today's climate, those lines are pretty blurry.
A good friend of mine was in charge of escorting opposing teams at Gill for several years - both gentleman and lady teams. He told me that he never had an incident of any kind. So I'm not worried that this is something endemic to OSU or Gill Coliseum. But don't kid yourselves - something did happen.

A very, very tough weekend for USC. Friday a controversial double OT loss in Eugene and less than 48 hrs later another close loss to OSU. Simon is a great competitor but has had well publicized battles with depression (PAC-12 network ran a piece on it, available on YouTube). She might have felt a further additional spotlight due to being unable to contain her defensive assignment, Marie G and fouling out. Fans tend to ride opposing players who foul out. It might have all just boiled over for her in the SC locker room. I hope this all all gets sorted out. Minyon Moore’s posts have now been deleted. But if any USC players truthfully were subjected to racist abuse we need their help in finding those folks so we can ban them from Gill.

Dam right we rode her hard when she fouled out, but not nearly as hard as she rode Marie the whole game. She should have fouled out in the first half. She doesn't have the skill to keep up with players of Marie's caliber so she responds by grabbing, pulling, pushing, our just outright laying on them. This is not a unique situation with her, she plays the same against Hebert, Billings, Anigwe etc. She can get away with it because of the complete incompetence of pac 12 refs.
I can say that I didn't hear any racial slurs from where I sat, but that was no where near the Beavers bench.

I’m not saying it did happen, or didn’t happen. But unlike you, I’m waiting for the FACTS to come out. Basing a reaction on accusations is an unwise move that many times backfires. I wasn’t there. But if folks were really saying that stuff it will be simple to verify, as the overwhelming majority of fans in ANY venue will find it unacceptable and be willing to come forth to confirm. The University needs to be proactive about this and get the facts.
