So, what's the scoop on him? Pitcher, obviously, but coming from a much lesser program. Anybody know anything? If he's a major contributor we're in trouble. NWC was very weak. Only saw parts of 4 games, but saw no player that was D1 on those days. Texted former colleague connected to WU's program. Stated Dorman and Canham must see something, but... one of his last starts was vs WU, 2+ IP, 8 hits, 8 earned. He was 1st Team, with over 4.5 ERA in that conference. So?? I'm gonna push back a bit on that. Some guys are clueless for a while, then they figure something out. Looking at his stats, that .36 whip this summer is obviously more than pretty decent. Sure, he sucked his first two years, maybe he's turned a corner? I'm willing to see what happens. www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=hostet000jac

Another young lefty. Inconsistent as heck in his freshman season at UW: 4/16 started vs. U. Portland: 5 IP, 0 hits
5/16 started vs. Cal: 2-2/3 IP, 10 hits

The stability of Oregon State's program will be good for Max Frazer. He committed to WSU out of Camas HS but flipped to UW when Coach Greene left Wazzu for Wichita State. After one year at UW, he saw Coach Kelly bolt for Texas A&M. Losing your Coach is difficult but twice in a period of 15 months? He needs a hug!.

Hostetler seems to be doing much better as a pure reliever, rather than as a starter, like he was at Whitman.

Agree - All 3 of the recent transfers fit the reliever profile.

D1 baseball long article today on transfer stories and ended with summaries of top remaining transfers and where the might be going.....
3. Aiva Arquette, 2B/SS (from Washington) — Arquette will not be an option for Texas A&M — where Jason Kelly went — because the Aggies are deep from a positional standpoint. However, someone will get an excellent overall player in the 6-foot-4, 205-pounder after he hit .325 with 12 homers and 36 RBIs last season. I’d keep an eye on Oregon State with Arquette.

Arquette could potentially mirror the Hainline transfer a year ago. He's big for a MIF but is solid defensively according to his scouting profile. He's from Kailua, HI. and prepped at Honolulu-St. Louis School. He was drafted following his Senior year in high school by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 18th round. He will be draft eligible again in 2025.
