All of a sudden after the court win last week, new "rumors" starting to trickle out regarding a WSU & OSU B12 invite. If the rumors start to gain more steam,,the timing suggests those those arguing the people behind the destruction of the P12 want to avoid giving OSU/WSU discovery power and will find a way (the money) to make it go away..

There is an old saying about lawyers - you never ask a question that you don’t already know the answer to. Unless the networks and the conferences know what’s on everyone’s computer that is not a road they want to go down. From a risk management standpoint making this whole situation go away is the only play.

OSU and WSU should ask for 40 million each to offset travel expenses.

If the rumors start to gain more steam,,the timing suggests those those arguing the people behind the destruction of the P12 want to avoid giving OSU/WSU discovery power and will find a way (the money) to make it go away.. Well, shoot. Now you've gone and done it. I had semi-succedsfully convinced myself that I did NOT want the Beavers to end up in the Big-12. This despite the fact that it would solve the P5 issue, give baseball a decent RPI, and limit travel somewhat due to there being 6 total ex-Pac-12 teams and BYUin the conference. I decided that what I wanted was a miracle rebuild of a P5 West Coast conference and surviving the insanity of realignment "the right way". In fact, I only clicked on the video so I could get ammunition to shoot the whole idea of going to the Big-12 down. This seemed assured when the guy first started talking and I found him annoying. But, dang, if he didn't win me over. By the time he finished the OSU/WSU topic 9 minutes in, not only did I think he had a good point, I was actually enjoying listening to him. He has no real reason to think it might happen and I think any of this talk has zero to do with anybody wanting to squelch the discovery phase, but when positive talk starts to come out of Big-12 country about OSU and WSU, that may have a way of gaining momentum. Do I want it to happen? Yes, but only if Barnes and Murthy can square it with their stated desire for a "regional" solution. I can convince myself that OSU/WSU/BYU/UTAH/COLORADO/UA/ASU is regional, but not sure if they (and all the various coaches) agree. It will all be academic if an invite doesn't come. As the podcaster said, it will come down to ESPN and Fox. Maybe we DO want those networks hypocritically hyping OSU and WSU. Let's hope for an exciting, very well viewed game this weekend. Tell all your friends to watch it.

Isn't it funny how often we learn coincidences weren't so coincidental after all.

Everything comes down to ESPN and Fox. Speaking of wishes, my wish is for a B10 invite. It's a better conference and it mostly solves the regional questions. There would be four PNW schools and two more from southern California. As a wild guess, Utah and the Arizonas along with the bay area schools would be close behind. Is it worth $35M or so per school for ESPN and Fox to add WSU and OSU? Maybe . . . . Winning helps our chances

A couple additional factors are what would the networks pay for a Pac-2/MWC merger or what would that competition cost them if the Pac-2/MWC. Also, with OSU/WSU currently blocking dissolution of the Pac-12 assets, could giving that fight up buy our way into the Big-12?

I've seen a few tweets about this in the last week. Here's the thing, there's typically a few levels to "rumors":
Level 0 - some no-name (OS_Beaver, etc.) tweets out their fantasy requests with no backing to it. Level 1 - someone who may be right every so often talks about something but doesn't even talk about "their sources" Level 2 - someone who is consistently right talks about it and talks about "their sources". Usually generalizes their sources, e.g. "Big12 leadership", "ESPN leadership" Level 3 - a named source by person
From what I could see, no one seems to have a valid source on this and it's probably multiple people just using the same tweet as a "source". Even this guy merely asked "his sources" if it were plausible.
The only way OSU gets a Big12 invite is if either ESPN/Fox fear something very damaging in this ongoing legal action or if they somehow got wind of a spectacular Apple deal OSU has lined up and they really want to continue to shut the door on Apple. Outside of that, ain't happening. Even if it did happen, I'm still not sure it's the best option. Maybe...depends upon how much money we wind up with from the legal action.

I did enjoy his speaking style, though, and the way he approached it...does a great job for what seems like a home brew broadcast!

If this plays out, then Get-down-on-their-knees-and-please-the-ACC-like-the-bitches-they-are Stanford and Cal will be the real losers. They could’ve stuck with us and rebuilt, but they couldn’t wait to sell out.
Yes, I have anger issues.

I accept this on blind faith. My glass is half full and I don't really even have a glass. Furthermore, I treat the fact that J Huang has been unloading massive chunks of stock recently as unimpeachable proof that he is going to subsidize our conference realignment.
That is all, carry on.

Is it now at $70M in 2 weeks? I'll join your club if you are taking on members.

The two worst academic universities in the current Pac-12. Very close to, if not a, 0% chance that Oregon State or Wazzu get an invite to the Big Ten.
