There will be no gloating, no matter what. As I have said, repeatedly, I know all of this is hard for you guys. If you end up in the expanded MWC (even if it's called the PAC-14), yes, I will be back, but not to gloat. I'll be here to cheer you on. I will root for the Beavs in every game, except against the Aggies. No gloating, just genuine enthusiasm for a great new conference mate. If you end up making a very bad choice, traveling all the way across the continent to play the refugees from the Sun Belt and Conference USA in the badly diluted AAC, I'll still be cheering for you. You see, I live less than an hour from Corvalis. With the exception of Michigan State, Ohio State, and I guess Cal, I always cheer for the Land Grant, even when they'd rather I didn't. I don't have any educational ties to any school in Oregon, but I have adopted Oregon State. I am now officially the booger you can't flick off... Go Beavs! Go AGGIES! I would personally rather travel to Boca Raton, Charlotte, Houston, Memphis, New Orleans, San Antonio, and Tampa. But a conference with nine of Albuquerque, Boise, Colorado Springs, Fresno, Fort Collins, Las Vegas, Logan, Reno, San Diego, and San Jose would also be great. Oregon State has multiple great paths forward. Anyone monitor Flight Alert, or whatever it is called. Looked like a bigger jet came into CVO at around 7:30 tonight. It seems a bit early to be bringing the Women's team home from Italy...and I know what the HP layoff jet looks like and it wasn't that.

Add Honolulu to that list. Hawai'i is not a full member, though. And if we don't have to take Hawai'i, we might as well lop off Wyoming, as well, because I am uncertain as to what they add. And maybe one more, if we can add someone better to fill the spot. |

I haven’t been watching schedules to see if half the MWC is getting 13 game regular seasons each year. Oh, and why do people dislike Wyoming? It’s been bowl eligible the last 6 bowl seasons. Wish we could say the same. |

Wyoming is a beautiful state. But Wyoming doesn't help the tv contract due to its small population. Of the MWC teams Wyoming would be one of the last teams I would pick to be in my league.

It’s a big and proud state. And some of those schools must be itching to compete at the same level as UCLA, Cal, etc. |

But no one took advantage of it this year. San Diego State and San Jose State, though, used the game to move up one game to the zero week and 1get a second bye, though. A lot of teams in the MWC found that having the 13th game just wasn't worth it. Late in the season, they were better off having a bye to get guys recovered from nagging injuries. If you have 13 games, you now need 7 wins to be bowl eligible. |
