I like the thinking of Jeremy Cluff, a writer for the Arizona Republic newspaper. Yesterday he wrote about Big 12 expansion, and the idea that the ultimate goal of the Big 12 is to expand to 18 schools (they sit at 16 now). He composed a list of the top 12 candidates to fill the final 2 spots, and the Beavs were #1 on it. As we all know, we fans have zero control over this craziness revolving around expansion. Every writer and fan has their own thoughts about what could happen, but virtually nobody knows for sure.
It doesn’t help to get mired in a gloom and doom approach to this. Being negative, even though it’s natural to be extremely disappointed with what has transpired with the PAC 12, doesn’t help settle anything. If we can avoid it, I don’t desire for the Beavs to become a Mountain West member and play in a G5 league. However, I would still be just as big of a fan and adapt to the change. Having said that, if the Big 12 comes calling, count me as a fan that would fully embrace that move.

I personally think the B1G could absorb the four remaining Pac teams and essentially keep both conferences alive. This would eliminate the need for lots of travel and I think the universities of the Pac match up well with those in the B1G. But I don’t think that’s what the broadcasting companies want, and they are footing the bill. They are at the heart of this realignment, plain and simple. They want to exploit the game for profit. Tradition means nothing to ESPN and Fox. All they see is $$$$. |

You shouldn't have to explain yourself, or walk on egg shells in here cuz of ur disappointment. There are bullies in here that go out of their way to make other Beaver fans feel bad about not being a positive Polly about our current sitch.
I'm assuming 99% of us in here either went to OSU, or have deep ties to OSU is some way. I don't know any Beavers who will just become "less of a fan".......now, being less of a fan of the machine that is college football, in general? Yea sure.....The greed taking away 100+ years of tradition? Yep, that's a turn off for me.....but no matter what I'm a Beav
Both my kids' dreams are to play baseball, and volleyball at OSU......I told em if they ended up playing a sport at hole I'd be proud (kinda) of em, but I'd show up to their games wearing Beaver gear.......they totally understand....in fact, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't go to hole....I've raised em right.
The Big 12 would keep us in a P5.....that would be huge......but I'm coming around on the MW idea.....if that's our destiny, so be it....I can combo fly fishing trips with football games....that'll work!

I'm competitive...we have a f%#*ing PROGRAM!! and then this!? I've been eating s%#t from arrogant duck fans forever, as most of us have. I just want our incubating football program to realize it's potential without being derailed by all this bulls%#t. And I want our baseball program to continue humming along......it just sucks when you feel like no matter how hard our guys fight, it's not good enough, and it's out out of our control completely.....a bunch of douchy tv execs are calling all the shots......its maddening for sure |

Hole's successes or failures in the top league of college ball will garnish much more attention than ours. The fact that OSU, Cal, WSU, and Stanford can't get in shows that it is an exclusive league. Therefore, their games will be seen as premier games, and wherever we land will not.
If this happens, I'm done, except to root against the whole system, hoping for a massive failure. And for some smarter people to take over.
