ROFL nah, nobody will want us or WSU. We are completely f%#*ed. Only saving grace could be the Big 12 TV deal. If they add any Power 5 teams (that's us!) then that school gets the same amount as everyone else per the contract ($32M or so). Which seems a bit crazy for the TV partners to agree to, I'm sure they weren't imagining OSU or Wazzu, but if the PAC truly does fall apart that may be our only chance. Lucky, Oregon State has turned it around at the right time. We may still be the ugly girl at the dance, but after a few drinks (10 win seasons) maybe someone will take us home. Would Ore or Wash go to the Big 12 as a second choice? Wouldn't it be better for them to go to the Big 10 so it leaves room for us and WSU in the Big 12? The Big 12 will take the four corners.

Just combine already. PAC 12 has blown this since they said no to Texas and Oklahoma about 10 years ago. A combined league is the only alternative to big 10 and sec. Sorry Stanford you’re going to have to deal with rednecks like asu and Colorado ain’t already.

Just saw on The Monty Show that sources said that Oregon State has been in deep discussions with the BIG 12 about joining. Game theory says that is the right move. If it looks like if you wait all the chairs will be taken, then you can't wait. The downside would be the big12 using OSU's interest to destabilize the conference, then they pick and choose who they want.

Makes sense to me for us to make a move if we can before we are left holding the bag......if the Big12 is a reality......otherwise, we go to the MWC where we won't have the money to keep Smith.
What is likelihood that Pac conference doesn't implode? Is it already a foregone conclusion?

It's over ladies. We will be relegated to some insignificant league that nobody cares about. Who's ready for that Montana State game?!?! Yeaaaa!!!

From what I can tell from other sports boards, there is a lot of contempt for the Pacific coast universities for some reason. It's almost as if they are rooting for the P12 to fail.

The west coast states have done themselves no favors in recent years, with regard to other interior states perception of us, in terms of what has made the national news. Just sayin' That works both ways. A lot of people in the interior have had a dislike or even hatred for the left coast for a long, long time.

Back to the topic, would adding both SDSU and CSU be a net positive over CU, or would splitting TV revenue be a net negative? I like that CSU is a land grant college, and would still give us access to the Denver market. I think more than anything, kicking the can down the road any more on this could result in us getting nothing but an implosion. Sure hope we are in for a good surprise!

Colorado moving would make the conference cross country championships less exciting. We'd lose 15% of the viewers leaving possibly double figures.

Let's not forget that Colorado was in the Big 12 previously (for 14 years and where they had their most successful seasons), so of all the Pac-12 schools them "going home" makes the most sense / has the easiest path. They go back to old rivalries, geographically they are just going east now instead of west so travel doesn't change much and honestly, as far as being competitive goes, especially in football, the Big 12 looks much easier than even the remaining Pac-9. OSU moving to the Big 12 would add tremendous travel issues that CO doesn't have, but the path to a Big 12 championship looks easier than the path to a Pac-9 championship.

That guy is full of s**t. He's made about 80 predictions that never came true and has a hate boner for the Pac-12.
