Us and them MWC ....lets go!
The Athletics Master Village would cost more than $300 million, including $81.1 million in Albertsons Stadium upgrades and $48.3 million for a New Varsity Center. The Broncos plan to create a 360-degree concourse in the football stadium and bowl in the stadium. All projects will cost 300 million.
Goal is to hold 40k in newly renovated stadium

They can't sell out the stadium they have. But they think the Big 12 wants them.

They've ginned-up many previous plans for stadium expansions that never happened. We'll see if this fundraising push results in something. Renderings are cheap. They cut their wrestling program to add baseball and that varsity team played less than 1 full season before being shut down for good. They only have 5 men's varsity sports (6 if you count track and xc as 2 sports).

They can't sell out the stadium they have. But they think the Big 12 wants them. I forget which game it was last year but it was one of their biggest home games and the stadium was 70% filled at best. The Chris Petersen era is long past Boise Tech...good luck with that expansion

This article is from almost a year ago. This is aspirational at best.

Different plans at different points in time. 10 years ago their AD was talking about an expansion to 48,000 as part of a pitch to get into the Big-12. But all that was was puffery. No one took it seriously at the time.
The current plan is much more modest--bowl in the remaining endzone with premium seats, increasing the capacity modestly from 36,500 to 40,000. The cost is 32 million. It will give them a finished looking stadium and some high priced seats. Still have blue turf though. BTW, the 300 million, mentioned above, is part of a larger drive to improve existing facilities and construct additional facilities.
And, given that we are a program that has been on the receiving end of that sort of thing for as long as I can remember, I'm suprised at how smug and dismissive people are about Boise State. If they can put together a 40,000 seat footbal stadium that actually looks like a football stadium (a bowl) I'm happy for them.

They should be spending their limited resources on becoming a legitimate research university instead of a trade school w/ D1 athletics. Their priorities are ass-backward.

Research university might be a hard sell in one of the reddist states in the country.

People have done the research, and they're leaving the blue state hellholes for Idaho. Spare me the excuses.
