They should be spending their limited resources on becoming a legitimate research university instead of a trade school w/ D1 athletics. Their priorities are ass-backward. Research university might be a hard sell in one of the reddist states in the country. They’ve already got a good one, up in Moscow. Low tax base state that doesn’t support higher ed can’t afford two.

Too bad we still won't have a stadium that looks whole,' 2 halves Reser' forever! Pretty pictures of imaginary stadiums are nice. Finding the $$ to actually build it is another thing entirely. We had 153 million to play with, could have had a complete look.

Imagine Reser with a 360 degree Beaver Street wrapping around entire stadium at the lower level with eating and drinking venues, shops, gear stores, etc. One can dream.

There’s no way an old Idaho farmer would start a cutting edge silicon chip maker and turn it into a global player. Wait, ah, never mind. www.micron.com/

Ask a trump voter if you can trust scientist or if universities indoctrinate kids into being more liberal. Results vary but not by much.

There are no anti-vaxxers among people who did not vote for Trump? I had no idea that the Bobby Junior was a Trumper! Plus, like Idaho has been a cutting-edge silicon manufacturer for decades. My father-in-law was in charge of a fab up there for a time. And he was a huge Trumper. Democrats have gone from "Don't trust anyone over 30" to you must believe everything that certain (and only specific) "scientists" say so fast, that me and almost everyone else has whiplash. Thank you very much for your bigoted, myopic, and all-around asinine post, though.

The stadium already exists. All they're talking about 32 million to bowl in an endzone and add about 3500 additional seats (mainly premium), the result of which will look more like a football stadium that what we will have. You don't think they can handle 32 million?

Most of my family is working class to rich conservatives. I even tune in to fox and newsmax sometimes to see what's up. This is the stuff they say, it's not coming from democrats or socialists or anyone else. From their mouths tommy ears. It's not going to be everyone but pretending their isn't a political divide over trust of science, scientists, research and academia is ridiculous. Boise State becoming a leading research university would mean developing all areas of research not just tech manufacturing. They would also need to be upping their game in social sciences, math, physics, chemistry, biology. That's what it would take to be a research university at the P12 standard. If you think that's gonna fly with Idaho officials and voters then you haven't been paying attention. Can trust a scientist...trust scientists...trust scientist...it's a typo dude.

You don't think they can handle 32 million? I’ll believe it when the contracts are signed and ground is broken. Until then it’s all talk and pretty pictures. They had cool renderings of their new baseball stadium not so long ago. That was a lot less than $32MM. Whatever happened to that project?

Just because bill gates made Microsoft doesn't mean all liberals are capable of that or have the luck in life to get all the ducks in a row.

People have done the research, and they're leaving the blue state hellholes for Idaho. Spare me the excuses. idahocapitalsun.com/2023/04/07/survey-shows-idahos-maternal-health-doctors-are-leaving-the-state-or-soon-will/Doctors are fleeing that state as fast as they can. But don't worry, who needs doctors? Their football stadium is right next to that new state-of-the art baseball stadium they were going to build, right? FYI, Micron founders Ward and Joe Parkinson attended Columbia University in New York City. They got as far away from Idaho as they could for their college education.

Different plans at different points in time. 10 years ago their AD was talking about an expansion to 48,000 as part of a pitch to get into the Big-12. But all that was was puffery. No one took it seriously at the time. The current plan is much more modest--bowl in the remaining endzone with premium seats, increasing the capacity modestly from 36,500 to 40,000. The cost is 32 million. It will give them a finished looking stadium and some high priced seats. Still have blue turf though. BTW, the 300 million, mentioned above, is part of a larger drive to improve existing facilities and construct additional facilities. And, given that we are a program that has been on the receiving end of that sort of thing for as long as I can remember, I'm suprised at how smug and dismissive people are about Boise State. If they can put together a 40,000 seat footbal stadium that actually looks like a football stadium (a bowl) I'm happy for them. Too bad we still won't have a stadium that looks whole,' 2 halves Reser' forever! Obviously you haven't been by the stadium at all lately. It looks wonderfully symmetrical.
