Apparently had nothing to do distance from home. Whatever.
Good luck Savannah. And mom.

Really I think her shot selection was probably something that she heard about from the coaching staff, and I don't think Mom cared for it. However, Corvallis is 2600+ miles from Woodstock, GA. Morgantown is 600 miles. Regardless she's the Beavs past, lets talk about the future.

In the grand scheme of things 600 miles = 2600 miles, but I suppose West Virginia may be more her cup of tea? I can kind of get behind a player wanting to be closer to home after this year. As in, home is actually accessible from their new school. But leaving because you don't exactly like they way your coach runs his team. Not precisely your style? Kind of weak sauce in my book. Hope it works out for her.

West Virginia was her second choice out of High School so I was wondering if she was looking there.
By the way, her Mom, when hearing about Brian Holsinger being a finalist for the Montana job, is all over twitter saying how great Brian is. I'm hoping she is sincere, as that is always good to hear about our coaches. Part of me wonders if the praising of Brian is a dig at SR though. I hope not.

My son is going to college next year and it's about a 1000 miles away. My parental perspective is there's a huge difference between 600 and 2600 miles away. He's a two-day drive away or a short, somewhat affordable direct flight. Not ideal but way more manageable than 2600 miles. I'd be very reluctant to see him go much further, but if it was a full ride to a great school that would help me afford the plane tickets I suppose. 600 miles would be a one long-day drive away or a short flight. Way better from a parent and student perspective all things being equal.

I guess my point is that you really aren't shooting home for the weekend any more with a 600 mile drive than you are with a 2600 mile drive. Once you are flying there isn't a tremendous difference between 600 or 2600 miles. A few hours in the air difference, but you are still going through the entire process to take a flight either way. I'm a little surprised SS didn't find something closer to home, but also didn't know that West Virginia was recruiting her before. I'm ready to move on. Best of luck to her. I guess they must run a more wide open offense at WV, or program, or whatever mom is complaining about. Hope she finds what she's looking for. Congrats to you and your son! Must be very exciting for you both.

Well, on the bright side, her mom will now be able to make more Mountaineers out of molehills!

Best wishes to Savannah. Taya called her Cuzzy on her post congratulating her. Don't know if that means they really are related or just metaphorical.

SS has a lot of basketball potential...She's athletic, and she has a shot that can easily be improved. If she learns to finish at the basket, she will be a significant asset to her new program.
Personally, I wish she would have stayed. She's not where Coach wants her to be, but my guess is she would have moved a lot closer to it in the 2021/22 season....
In my view she will not be that easy to replace. She has the kind of athleticism Coach desperately needs. But she has the kind of can't-finish-once-I-get-to-the-rim that he doesn't need. GO BEAVS!!

Off WVU website: "I chose WVU because I know I will excel in their up-tempo style of play....." Did Savannah or Sasha (or their P's) research SR's offense before committing to OSU? Good luck to Savannah, thought she would excel here, I hope she gets more PT in Morgantown, a good team (22-7) that's already loaded.

More up-tempo huh? Over the past 6 years WVU and OSU have almost the same average in points/game. But I guess WVU's extra .3 points/game are all that.

These girls and maybe their parents did not do their homework. This is why HVL and Westbrook went elsewhere to play ball. They wanted a more up temple style of play. I hope this doesn't hurt future recruiting. Destiny, Sasha, Savanna leaving isn't going to help getting distant players to Corvallis.
