I think not having any of the support and experiences that comes with normal life on campus is behind most of this. Covid still rearing it's ugly head. I guess being trapped in a dorm room thousands of miles from home wasn't exactly what Samuel or Goforth had in mind when they signed with OSU. Seems like we are not alone in this exodus either. Lots of players leaving their schools after this year.

You take the 'Covid isolation / no fans' factor and add it to the 'no penalty I can transfer and play immediately' factor and you can see why we are seeing this. The exciting thing is I would hope and expect this can also work in our favor. Should be interesting to see who we add in the coming months.

Maybe the coach needs to change his philosophy of having a 12 player roster. It leaves no room for error - injury, transfer, etc..

I saw Savannah’s comment on Noelle’s Instagram post this morning saying “I’m so glad I got to spend this year with you.” I had also heard from a source that this might be happening. The comment above pretty much sealed the deal in my mind. |

Her mother was mad about playing time and took offense to Rueck calling Savannah’s offense “developmental.” That made it pretty clear to me. Her exact comments: “I would never describe Savannah’s offense as developmental and neither would a lot of other people. The way he uses that term is so offensive. Isn’t everyone’s game still developing? She is a SHOOTING GUARD. That’s literally what her position is called and what she is good at. She shot 45% from the 3 as a senior in HS less than a year ago. Shooters shoot. She came out of the exact same AAU circuit as other players, her team won that championship. She was a major part of that. She knows how to shoot, otherwise she would have played post. she was right there with everyone else on the team at the beginning of the season. Remember when everyone was struggling but they just needed more games? Same, for Savannah.” |
