The Beavers are one of four finalists for 2019 Jelena Mitrovic, a 6'9" post out of Serbia, along with Arizona State, Iowa, and Rutgers. She will take official visits to all four schools.

Back on the subject, she looks to have good mobility. An ability to quickly move out to cover a player making a long shot. Also able to get open on offense. Good hands and a soft touch on her shot.
I think we are the best team of the four schools she is visiting. Let's hope KBF, CR, and the girls show her what a real "family team" is all about.

A very interesting collection of schools that is... essentially a school in three different corners, NW, SW, and NE, of the US and midwest Iowa. She has a lot of playing experience and looks like a good prospect.

I'd like to remind everyone, since you all seem to have forgotten, that we already have a 6'9" freshman for 2019. "We've already got a George."

I've only watched a little bit of Jelena's video, but what we do know is that she is tall, and as they say, you can't teach height. I would definitely list her as a 'prospect', who could really use a staff like Oregon State's to help her develop. Her game is not developed to the extent of Kennedy or Taylor, but that doesn't mean she can't become a huge contributor some day. I'm curious how much interest this staff has. We don't know the long term status of AA, and Taylor has had previous hip problems, (didn't Kennedy have some back issues as well?), so they may feel more height is needed. Good depth is always a plus!

I paused at first, thinking that OSU would not be the logical choice for Jelena, but hey, given the uncertainties of AA (plus she doesn't want to be narrowly confined to playing the post), and the fact that KB is practicing to be a guard (she flat out says this), I say why not the Beavers! Could one imagine a front court of 6-3, 6-6. and 6-7 or 6-9 ? Well, one can always dream "big", even if it's crazy or seems impossible. The men's bb team is already the land of the giants, so the women's team should be too!

We've got scholarships to give. If you can improve your team, do it. I don't see anything negative about signing her if we can.

Based on her videos, I see a lot of Ruth in her, maybe more so than I do in Patricia Morris. For what the highlights show, I like her game a lot. She has a really strong build, but it is complemented by a face-up game as well. She has also been playing “professionally” (the same thing Jazz was doing), and is playing really well. She was averaging 24 PPG at 65%. I would guess one of the Taylor Jones, Kennedy Brown, or Jelena would redshirt, because it could get really clunky.
With PM and AA still unproven, she looks like a great prospect. Hopefully we can reel her in on her OV. Sure hope she doesn’t fall in love with Tempe heat.

if Jelena falls in love with the heat in Tempe, it's only because she wasn't there in the summer. I spent a week down there in July a few years back for training, and it was gosh awful oppressive by 10 am. Hated to step outside.

In her past two games, Jelena has scored 14 and 22 points and had 18 and 17 rebounds. Not sure of the competition level. For those wondering, I believe she also will step out and shoot the 3.

We could in theory put in a lineup where everyone is 6'5"/6'6" or taller. Not too many women's teams could do that.

She was just at Iowa, guessing on her OV. It's separate tweets but this reporter confirms it

She is taking official visits to all four schools, so unless any of the others went unreported, she still has to visit Arizona State, Rutgers, and Corvallis. Not sure which weekend she will be visiting OSU. Would be interesting to have Mitrovic, Aquino, Jones, and Brown all in the 2019 class, but she does look like a good prospect. Has an impressive build and strong frame for a 6'9" 17 y/o female.

Just saw it was reported that Rutgers was her first visit. OSU and ASU next.
