yea, that's not defensible. If she has that down, defenders will have to either push her away from the basket, or hope she misses.

Nice move for sure. Helped tremendously by the fact that she received the pass in zero traffic and the top guard did not drop down to squeeze her release... Nevertheless, for 6'8" an impressive little jump hook with even some vertical.... I have no clue how the staff evaluates her game - but this shot showed a fluid motion....The essential numbers in all this: 6 & 8.... GO BEAVS !!

Looks smooth. The way she protects the shot with her off arm does make that pretty impossible to defend.

If she was there to see Stanford beat asu she witnessed it with 2700 fans. Compare that to our win over Washington in front of double that number. I like our chances of getting her even with our post situation.

I like our chances of getting her even with our post situation. I like OSU's chances too, especially if Kennedy Brown is as versatile as they say (and/or if Andrea Aquino can play the 4). If so, then OSU would be able to deploy 2 bigs at once, or even three as Baylor did to put away Kansas State last week. As the K State coach said "We were able to do it OK with the two-headed (6'7" Kalini Brown and 6'4" Lauren Cox) monster. But, when they brought Smith in there (a third big as in 6-2 freshman NaLyssa Smith), it was really tough for us to defend." Could you imagine if the Beavs could sometimes effectively use a lineup of 6'8"/6'7" + 6'9"/6'6" + 6'3" in the front court!!

And she would have two years of playing with a couple of excellent point guards that are able, and more importantly, willing to feed the ball inside.

Any news to when she will announce her decision? Well, I am not sure watching her Twitter account will provide many hints..... twitter.com/jelenam54411915Scouting report on Jelena.....I am not sure what sort of timeline she is on. Can she sign anytime, or does she need to wait for the "late signing period"? Getting her could be a real "swing vote" on how next season progresses, though I like the thought of AA with a year in the system, lots of existing and new tall timber at the 2, 3, 4, and 5, and a rotation of Aleah and Destiny at PG just to acknowledge that we are still a destination school for players under 6'3".......crazy to ponder lineups with an *average* height of 6'3" or 6'4"....... Go Beavers!

To officially sign, she would need to wait until April 17th. Obviously, she can commit at any time. I have mixed feelings on this. After seeing Kat go down, you realize the importance of depth. Knowing AA has her health issue, Taylor has had hip issues, and I believe even Kennedy has had some back issues, having an extra big would be very nice. At the same time, there are a LOT of high quality guards and wings in the 2020 class that have an interest in the Beavs. You would like to see scholarships available for them as well.
Truth is, with the college basketball transfers being the way they are, you never know who you may be able to pick up (or lose) via transfer as well. I could see someone like Jasmine transferring out to get playing time. No, don't get carried away, I don't expect it to happen. I'm just saying it's possible in the current college basketball environment.

If you have the opportunity to sign a talented 6-9 player, you sign her, period. Especially with a big leaving, with one a senior-to-be playing out of position, and another possibly with an uncertain future. We always have 3-4 unused scholarships, so there is ample room.
McWilliams is leaving, Tudor will be recovering from ACL surgery, and we did not sign a guard in this recruiting cycle. Simmons will get plenty of PT next season.

"Talented" being the key word there. If there is talent, or reason to believe 6'9" will develop into the talent you need, for sure you take your shot.

Judging by the programs recruiting her, she is talented.

For those of you who didn't notice it posted on the recruiting board. The front line won't be much of an issue next year. Will we have any weaknesses? I don't think so.
