the social justice warriors got their pound of flesh from Luke. but there's more work to do for those self righteous A holes. there are approximately 50,000 registered sex offenders in Oregon and Washington. statistically 40 % of them are child molesters. I'm sure they will be just as concerned that none of those people get a second chance at life and the ability to pursue their dreams.

Luke is a slippery razor sharp edge no MLB team wants to deal with (insert your own reason 'why' ...after all we are all living in a 'glass house society, right?) Someone, somewhere where baseball is played professionally will give him a shot Japan? Korea? |

I think Luke should sue the hell outta the MLB, Oregonian and also sue Danny Moran for possibly personally running his pro baseball career.
Luke is a friggen ACE pitcher, every team in the MLB is a driven dumbs%#t for passing up on ACE pitcher!!
Seeing Luke not get drafted pisses me off so much, God I hope to Hell, Luke or someone sues the s%#t outta Danny Moran, for running Luke! 😡🤬😤😤😤

A bitter-sweet draft. Beaver players fared so well but the great disappointment of seeing their teammate passed over has to have tarnished it immensely.
Unfortunate that MLB baseball openly tolerates so much yet drips with hypocrisy in their treatment of this situation. A sad night for the team, the coaches and Luke himself. And, for those Beaver fans that were hoping for a more compassionate outcome for the young man.
This was a telling event for many - Ed Ray, Pat Casey, the Oregonian, the MSM, and Luke the victim. Feelings and opinions have been forged, character or lack thereof has been put on display and the very thing our country stands for, giving the fallen a second chance, appears to have failed here.
I spoke with a handful of scouts in Arizona. They told me everyone knew the story wasn't factual, that it was agenda driven and as one prominent AL scout put it, "it was bullsh*t. One scout then aptly pointed out, "but we're not the front office".
Sad day for the Beavers and MLB.

It really doesn't matter if the front office believes the story or not. They are at the mercy of the general public.
The general public doesn't bother to know the entire story, or even that a juvenile sex offender is completely different than an adult one. They read the headline and want him dead or in jail. They would picket, pressure sponsors, and it would turn into a media circus. The negatives outweigh any positives that they would hope to gain.
I'm curious if this will hurt Casey's reputation recruiting. There is a lot of hatred out there for Oregon State and Casey for playing him. I'm sure some parents may say they don't want their kid to play for him.

I'm sure some parents may say they don't want their kid to play for him. This will not hurt Casey at all or recruiting as evidenced by our outstanding baseball recruits. Anybody with a brain knows that OSU had no choice in playing him. Luke is a student in good standing, with no criminal record. There is nothing legally or in OSU policy that prevents his access to the classroom or the baseball field.
The only person that could have prevented Luke from playing this year was Casey himself. He needed to cut him from the roster as not being good enough to be a part of the final 35 - which of course would have been a lie. Pat Casey is not a liar. |
