Not trying to pick a fight with you. But, I call them as I see them. We are not the number one team in the country right now. Having Madrigal back may help with the mental approach. Our pitching is not good at this point which is a bit of a mystery to me with all of the talent we have.

I'm with you cbeavs1, but that's okay, lots of time, I'd rather have a wakeup call in late March than late May or June!
Furd is losing at home to a s%#tty team themselves early tonight too....so never know, sometimes it's just baseball (but our game tonight is not just baseball it's s%#tty play)

As I stated earlier, I think we can get there. I think Gambrell is the key as the third starter as he has a ton of potential. I know he has struggled with control as well, but he can get it back. I think we may need to engage Mulholland or Eisert as a permanent starter. We also may see Andy Armstrong play centerfield in place of Kwan if AA keeps hitting as he is
Abels front leg is inconsistent on where it lands which if too far in his step, doesn't allow his body to push through and the ball stays up. Needs to be corrected.

Looks like Heimlich is the only reliable starter on the staff. For now anyway. But, that's why polls are a pile. Anyone who knows baseball and knows who we had returning on the mound would also know our staff had a lot to prove to win the Pac12 let alone be ranked #1. It's cool and all, but really meaningless. It's not "early" any longer. We're in our 3rd Pac12 series, pitching has not shown steady improvement. Giving up a game to bottom feeders will cost us...

RALLY KILLER. So says Tim McCarmer. Let's the pitcher start all over with bases empty. I have this thought he was full of it.

cbeavs - I've ALWAYS thought Laranch should move to 1B....would allow Jones more time (and others). But he's never done it, so obviously a good reason. But like where your head is at.
That said, Gretler at 1B hitting 8th is pretty darn solid in the scheme of things...

Utah's pen is dreadful. The guy that just gave up the GS is really their only guy with decent #'s at all....

Furd now losing 4-0 in the 4th to a bad team. Can that series somehow end in both going 0-3?
Make that 6-0. Wow.
