I watched the whole Game and whatever Hope, desire, effort seemed to go away after Halftime. Even when we were in the game I saw poor blocking, poor tackling and little depth. Really we should be more upset with the Mental things than anything else. We are not good and not tough, not physical, not better than a decent Mountain West Team. If I were Coach Andersen i would apologize to beaver nation for this mess we seem to have. I have been coming to Beaver Football Games since Prtothro Coached. I am 72 Years old and have seen enough of this. I don't see an out and i see an AD who will keep Andersen and Company around. I have Season Tickets, but no enthusiasm for this any more. I will not renew My Tickets nor care if we win 4 or 5 games. The Caliber of player is not Good enough, the Coaching is not Good enough and the Enjoyment is gone. I will follow Women's Basketball and stop thinking it will be better soon. I am sorry to feel this disgusted but I cannot watch this crap anymore. As more than one of us have said, and you just reiterated, it is more than just the 6-19. It is the who, what, why, and how. It is the lack of belief, consistency, and progress in the "process" or now "processes". Unfortunately the new AD will have to be forced to make a move if this season falls flat. That will not happen. Mr Ray will not fall on his sword and admit this "experiment" has failed if we are 5-7 or worse. As you state the only way the fan has to vote is with their pocketbook. And as has happen this year a drop in ticket sales and interest eventually can not be ignored. Labor Day weekend and PSU will be the "cover story" for under 35k in the stands next weekend. We all hope what we've witnessed for 25 games will miraculously change, but as you state there has been one consistent aspect to the current regime... the coaching is not good enough! (I'd argue we do have/had the talent to compete at a 6-9 win level). Hang in there. Beaver fans have endured worse. And the one bright spot is that the bar for $ commitment had been set, so hopefully that will help lure young, fresh, enthusiastic talent when the time comes.

The TDs to Togia were both throws 3M could not make. That guy was 9-25 against that worthless uck secondary. 3M being out there yesterday would not have changed that outcome. Man ion being out there wouldn't have either. Totally agree about the atmosphere though - that CSU crowd reminded me of a Cal or Stanford crowd. Very quiet. Stop lying and throwing out bogus stats about McM. It sounds like he stole your GF or something with how much trash you talk. www.espn.com/college-football/boxscore?gameId=400869171Here is his real stats vs the cheaters. You should watch more football... or whatever you told me when I said Luton will put up stats but LOSE games by turning the ball over multiple times a game, like HE DID Saturday.

In the end that game was won by the running the ball and some timely stops by the defense. The defense couldn't slow down or stop the Rams. The coaches abandoned the run game and put Luton in the position where he had to be perfect to win the game. The subject of this thread should be Beaver Fans = Whiners...... Suck it up buttercup!

Yep. it isn't necessarily that we are 6-19 so far... it why we are 6-19. We are 6-19 because of a series of boneheaded decisions, overall poor recruiting, and a complete lack of player development.

My observation is that the "jimmies and joes" seem to be bigger, stronger and faster than the have been in several years but they are not being put in a position to succeed. That lands squarely on the coaches back. CGA is being compensated plenty to fix this "process" and Beaver Nation is running out of patience.
Time to spit, rinse, and NOT REPEAT!
Go Beavs!!

Marcus Mcmarion was definately not the answer at quarterback. I didnt like his throw game and his running wasnt even all that good. I would take luton over mcmaryion any day. Did luton make mistakes? Absolutely. Would mcmarion have been better? Absolutely not. Lutons upside is much higher than mcmarions. Have to agree that the coaches did a great diservice to luton by putting all the pressure on him to make plays. Ludicrous considering how well we run the ball. I am starting to wonder if the coaches can evaluate talent correctly and put their talent in a good position to succeed. From what it seems like to me they couldnt decide how they wanted to use their players. Are we a balanced attack? Are we run first? Are we pass first? Seemed like they went through each of these things throughout the game especially in the second half which cant happen. How are we supposed to win if there is no consistency? Defense was obviously atrocious. Not only did they seem out of shape and ill prepared for the task I believe there scheme should be called into question as they are out of what I consider the rebuilding phase. They have had two full recruiting cycles to work with and still the results are dismal. I think kevin Mcgiven needs to be challenged to do better or fired. His defense is still having confusion? Unacceptable. I hate to say it but John Conzano had a point when he said we lost our identity in that game. Ryan nall looked as good as ever in the first half but then we hardly handed it off in the second. Makes no sense to me. Also I have to call the run game scheme into question as thomas tyner only had 8 yards on 4 carries for a guy who had over one hundred yards rushing in the national title game two years ago I blame this on the beavers coaching, play calling and lack of good blocking. Also a lot of the run plays that thomas got seemed circuitous and slow developing. Not a good combo for someone who is mostly a speed guy and not a bruiser. I really like thomas tyner and believe he did not get enough carries. Period. Bottom line=Beavers Coaching staff better figure some stuff out this year and fast if we are going to make it to a bowl game or if they are going to have a job next year.

In my opinion, the fact that some fans "like our chances" this weekend against a D2 team in Portland St Portland State isn't D2. My bad, you're right. I-AA. You can dress it up and call it Football Championship Subdivision, it's I-AA.

In my opinion, the fact that some fans "like our chances" this weekend against a D2 team in Portland St. speaks to exactly the mess this program is in GOING INTO YEAR 3!. In year 3 we should be expecting to freaking spank PSU, not wonder if we can even pull it off. C'mon!! We should be hitting a stride in year 3, NOT regurgitating the same problems we've had in the first 2 years of the new regime. I was SUPER excited to have CGA come to our school but I think it's clear now that he's NOT the answer to get our football program back up to respectability. In my opinion, he just simply not a good CEO of the program. He can't seem to identify good QB prospects to recruit, which may be a reflection of the fact he also can't seem to decide on an offensive identity, he can't seem to be able to see the most capable QB on his roster as far as winning games, he's intent on bringing the 'ol gang together as his coaching staff even when they may not be the most competent options, and perhaps some evidence may suggest he's losing his team. Look, I want him to be a good coach at OSU, I really do, but I think this is his year to put up or shut up. I'm sorry but I'm of the opinion that if he can't show some improvement in the program this year, and to me that has to be in W's and L's then it's time to start looking for our next direction. It'll suck, cost the university money, and they'll have to swallow their pride but it'll be time to move on from this apparent train-wreck of a football staff. Just my $.02. Go Beavs! Buddy - as you've referred to me as "some fans who like our chances..." - Please don't take my comment seriously. I didn't have the sarcasm font turned on. It's Control-Window's button-S! And I didn't mean to make it sound like I was picking you out as a ridiculous opinion more my point is that we should boat-race the Vikings year in and year out for many, many reasons, the main one being they aren't on the same level of football that we should be at. This year they might be but it shouldn't be that way!

On "perhaps some evidence may suggest he's losing the team"... I'd suggest 30 some odd players missing the Civil War game because they were "late to the bus" screamed that pretty early on. Unfortunately QB merry-go-round this last season and into this fall has probably perpetuated it. I really think it could take as long as a few years of time for all of Riley's players and those current Andersen recruited players with opinions on how certain players were handled/treated to pass through the system. That's quite a while to make a coaching transition, I hope it's quicker. Agree with everything you said. I don't have the patience and I will go out on a limb and say that the vast majority of Beaver nation doesn't have the patience to wait 3-4 more years for said players to be out of the program. The reality is, if indeed he did alienate some players, it's because of his personnel decisions probably not because he's just a jerk of a guy. Those said personnel decisions pissed some players off and they may of felt 3M got a raw deal. It happened to 3M and it'll happen to someone else too. I doubt his mishandling of the 3M situation is or will be an isolated incidence. Again, I have no inside info at all, just speculating from stuff I hear on here.

Anonymous message board posters claiming unknowns as "absolutes".......PRICELESS. Fact: Luton made costly mistakes Unknown: McMaryion would have been better. Unknown: Luton has the higher upside. Fact: McMaryion posed a legitimate run threat, Luton does not. Fact: McMaryion has led OSU to P5 victories. Fact: Luton has not led anyone to an FBS victory let alone a P5 victory. Fact: I hope he does. I hope he develops, learns, grows, and gets coached up. Unknown: This staff is capable of developing, teaching, growing, and coaching up a QB. (some would argue it's fact they can't)

Fact: (Unknown) I hope he does. I hope he develops, learns, grows, and gets coached up.
Actually, this may or may not be a fact, and therefore is actually unknown. You may want Luton to fail miserably. You may be a jilted relative of 3M. Your true feelings are not known or proven to people reading this board. This is unknown.
