You would be trading out 10 of the 11 weekend series for games against Mountain West teams. Basically, the first three weekends would be the same. And then, you would slide into conference play with only nonconference series mixed in. You would probably have at least six games against Wazzu and then six games against another Mountain West team and then three-game series against the other six Mountain West teams. You likely lose the midweek game against UCLA and the two against Wazzu and have to reschedule them. 2025 and 2026 are not 15-week baseball schedules like 2021. It would arguably be more difficult to put together a schedule. As I said elsewhere, I think what you are saying makes sense, but I like what Oregon State did with the independent schedule more. Plus, I am hoping that some of these road agreements are reciprocal in 2026. Oregon State goes there in 2025. The other teams return to Goss in 2026 or shortly thereafter. My issue is it isn't a high quality schedule. As many stated here it would be very difficult for that to happen. Yet the powers that be kept saying it was... just wait until contracts are signed. Ok schedule for an indy. And, that's only because of the preseason invites. But, piss poor home schedule was the trade off. Shows just how little cache/leverage an indy OSU had to try to fit into conference schedules. Time will tell if trading off a conference title (I'm assuming OSU would win any of the possible west conferences), extra conference tourney games, auto bid (depending on conference policy) vs depending on a committee's view on this schedule with no conference affiliation. FWIW... regional play begins 5/30/25. OSU's last game 5/17/25. That's a long layoff while other teams are winning, impressing, upsetting. The top 13 at Goss are better than the top 13 at Goss in 2023 or 2024. Only 20 games at Goss in 2025, though, the fewest scheduled games at Goss since 1999. Yeah, I would have personally liked for Oregon State to find someone to play that final weekend. I think that Northwestern may be available, because it is on probation. Additionally, I believe that Mercyhurst and West Georgia may have availability.

Looking forward to hearing what actual experts have to say about the schedule. Hopefully you caught Rooney's interview with Casey a few weeks ago, that was great.

My expert opinion is that if our schedule ultimately includes a home regional and a home super regional then a trip to a neutral site it is a great schedule.

Even better if we win that last game at the neutral site!

Anyone have the "dead 🐎" GIF? Can't seem to get it functioning via phone. Fresh baseball thread needed🥃 The way you talk in here you'd think the baseball program is dead Rgeorge rarely has anything good to say about the program. He always comes in with his Debbie Downer perspective. It just gets old after awhile with their wet blanket takes. I just got tired of pushing back and just started ignoring anything they say. You don't always have to be sunshine and scones, but occasionally it wouldn't hurt to put positive spins.

Noting with limited comment: Season-ticket renewals hit today, still $490, same as last season. Hopefully a 20-home-game season is just a one-year blip on the radar.

The problem is not only just the 20 home games, but the fact that 9 of them are on a weekday other than Friday. Might be the shot for some of the people on the waiting list to get tickets, if they want to pay the price. I'll keep mine, but it sucks knowing I'll probably miss 7-8 of those weekday games.

Add... that many from out of the area can't make the Friday evening games. That adds (4) more (?). So,, many folks will miss some or all of (13) or the (20) home games. Goss is going to be very empty for over half the games there.

Ticket office has a waiting list in their back pocket and they are not afraid to use it. Action speak louder than words, and they love and appreciate the fans as long as your wallet is open
