The mixed 4x400 track relay was unbelievable! I’ll try to post it, but if you catch highlights don’t walk away. Superwoman on the anchor! Can’t get enough of the teammate’s reaction.

Duplantis put on a show in the pole vault today. Gold medal and a world record. Born in Lafayette La to parents who both ran track for LSU, his brother played baseball for the tigers also. He competes for Sweden and considered the greatest vaulter of all time.

Duplantis put on a show in the pole vault today. Gold medal and a world record. Born in Lafayette La to parents who both ran track for LSU, his brother played baseball for the tigers also. He competes for Sweden and considered the greatest vaulter of all time. The brother, Antoine Duplantis, was a corner outfielder from 2016-2019. He started in left and batted third in 2017 against Oregon State. He is the guy that fielded Kwan's knock that wasn't in left. He had one hit in the series, but it made it 4-0 in the Greg Street game. Duplantis was hitless against Oregon State in Corvallis. Duplantis was stranded in scoring position his first three at bats in Corvallis. Heimlich struck out Duplantis on four pitches in his final at bat. And that was how Heimlich's Corvallis Regional ended. Eisert replaced Heimlich to start the eighth. Duplantis watched Kwan's homer sail over his head in right to make it 1-0 in the Championship Game. Duplantis was the penultimate hitter in the Corvallis Regional, striking out on four pitches before Mully induced the game-ending double-play.

I have a 16 year old daughter who is coming off a year long rehab from a knee injury, so the current furor over biological males competing in women's Olympic Boxing has some relevance for me. linkI'm all for people being able to self-identify however they wish socially. In competition, I have a real, real problem with it. Just to reiterate what kersting13 said, the two boxers boxing as women in the Olympics are not transgender. The Russians disqualified both boxers as having XY chromosomes and indicated that one had an elevated level of testosterone. But that was only after one of the boxers defeated a Russian boxer. The Russians have never disclosed their test, and no one has published anymore concrete information about it. If the notoriously unreliable Russian tests are correct, both women may have something like Swyer syndrome. Whether an individual with Swyer syndrome is "biologically male or female" gets into a lot more biology than I know. Yeah it's amazing how when the full story comes out, it is never as outrageous as initially portrayed.

Interesting to me about a couple of sprints M 100m WR is Usain Bolt 9.58 from 2009, Winner in 2024 Noah Lyles 9.79 a difference of 0.21 seconds. Last place in 2024 was 9.91 a difference from Lyles time of 0.12 seconds
W 200M WR is Flo-Jo 21.34 from 1988! Winner in 2024 Gabrielle Thomas 21.83 a difference of 0.49 seconds! Difference between first and second in 2024 was 0.25 seconds..
Couple of all time great sprinters in Bolt and Flo-Jo

Mijain Lopez of Cuba won his 5th Oly gold medal in Greco wrestling; Beijing, London, Rio, Tokyo, and Paris. He was in Athens but didn't place. Half retired after Rio . . . quite literally only competed in Tokyo and Paris; no world championships or any other competition since - just rolls out of bed for the Olympics and gets his gold medal. Left his shoes on the mat today finally calling it a career.

Even though he’s a duck…
Gotta give props to Cole Hocker for taking gold in 1500m. Gutsy race in a blistering pace. Won at the tape w/ an OR.
Don’t know anything about the guy. Hopefully he’s not a jerk.

Noah Lyles finished 3rd in the 200M..later announced he tested COVID positive. Surprises me he was allowed to run....no rules against it I guess I noticed him wearing a mask inside yesterday, and I was wondering, if he was worried about getting sick or getting someone else sick. The relative nonchalance about something that was so allegedly important four years ago is galling, especially because of the huge part that it played in the destruction of the Conference of Champions.
