As a WBB fan, I can safely say that Elite 8 (or Omaha) can't keep a roster intact. I really hope that Beaver Baseball choosing to be independent keeps the roster competitive and fun. GO BEAVS! Competitive and Fun….a great goal. Baseball portal is a different animal. Beavs are better off going independent than MWC. WSU, MWC bound without the gravitas to try independent, currently has 9 players in the portal, including 3 starting position players. USC, a 2025 Big Ten team, has 11 portal entrants. The reasons are likely all over map for the WSC and USC players. |

What is the closing date for the baseball portal? July 2nd I believe. I'd bet we don't get any huge news this week, probably next week if we do. |

I noticed this morning that Casen Taggart (WSU DH - who was 3 for 5, with 3 rbi in that fateful May 4 10-9 loss to Cougs...fateful, because it was a contributor to not getting a top 8 seeding) has committed to a BIG Ten university, across the State from Pullman. |

So much for that forlorn hope that non-football top athletes wouldn’t want to travel across the country for reasons.... The kid is from Everett. Maybe he just wants to play his final year close to home in an empty stadium. He hit .240/.317/.337 in conference. Sounds like a perfect Husky, not a "top" athlete. |
