As a WBB fan, I can safely say that Elite 8 (or Omaha) can't keep a roster intact. I really hope that Beaver Baseball choosing to be independent keeps the roster competitive and fun.
GO BEAVS!

Is Caraway not more of a SS by trade than a 3B? Thought when he committed he was listed as a SS and was just playing 3rd cause we had Hainline. Depends on if he can show he can throw it across the diamond. Struggling with that as of now. He can barely move his finger. He showed it to me down the 3B line. Rocking a Kevin Garnett like finger sleeve to keep inflammation down. Based on what he said it prob won’t be right for a couple more months mobility wise. Guys who have had same injury in big leagues needed a whole off season to get mobility back in the joint. He threw 95 across the diamond pre injury. I think he will be fine once he gets more time under his belt. Has only been throwing a baseball for two weeks from what I understand.

Bazz, Hainline, May, Kmatz, Holmes all get drafted. McDowell and Kasper both get pro opportunities I’m guessing? Guerra will either be a late round sign or maybe a free agent sign. Also, wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t get drafted and went in the portal. I don’t think Smith or Weber gets drafted. In which case one will more than likely leave. My guess is they give Caraway every opportunity to play SS next year. That’s where he played in HS and in summer ball. Mind you for a California HS program who has churned out some very good SS’s. Trosky to 2nd base? I’ve heard rumblings… Need a guy for left side of the infield either way. The kid from Iowa western looks solid. Biggest needs in portal are big time arms and a catcher. Maybe 1 more infielder. If the key pieces stay we are very good again next year.

When he was heavily followed at JSerra HS and Canes National, MLB Scouts always projefted Caraway at 3B. They questioned his footwork in playing SS. Good glove and plus arm but the "tootsies" were the issue.

They've both been so up and down, I'm worried they might wonder if they could be more consistent with better coaching. If we do see a large exodus of pitchers, does that say anything about Dorman's value to the team? Probably need to see who actually leaves, to make a call as to whether it's mainly PT or something else... On the plus side, isn't next year's freshman class pretty loaded with pitchers?

I’m not concerned about those guys leaving, but nothing will shock me at this point. IMO, the three most important arms to retain are Keljo, Segura, and Palmer. I’m not sure Jimenez will be back. Heard some stuff early in the year that might look around. We’ll see.

Arms we have to keep: Segura, Keljo, Palmer. (IMO these are the glue guys for next years starting rotation. Position players you have to keep: Turley, Caraway, Macias. (Those are your position player glue guys)
I don’t know if a domino effect happens with the pitchers but if talent leaves guys will start to look around. Especially the top prospects.

We need to also realize that we are a top program. Top programs have high turnaround in the NIL era. Guys are given a shot to come and if they don't meet standard they are asked to go develop in the junior college ranks or transfer for playing time. We then bring in prospects, transfers and JC guys who developed as we hoped.
We will need to worry when our top players are scalped for pay checks. For instance there is zero chance Bazanna didn't get some offers last season.
Keys to our continued success and survival is to keep staying relevant in the win column and keep developing high quality MLB prospects that choose college over a high round pick.
