UCLA has gotten up 14 more shots with close to 3 minutes to go. That is a lot more chances.

Frankly and honestly our bigs aren't good. Ibekwe is good but still very green. He would be a beast, if he was in better condition. He gets tired too fast, and starts loafing. Chol is very good on defense and has range. It seems like he is underutilized. Tyler Bilodeau would be great, if he could play smarter. It seems like he already has at least two fouls within five seconds of tipoff. I can't tell if Rataj is hurt or not, but he is much more talented than he has shown thus far. |

We don't have the team to overcome a lot of mistakes. And we've given up some open threes this half, not boxed out, and their bigs are allowed to back down ours to the hoop. Kind of like a normal outing. |

OSU had 8 offense rebounds, UCLA 13(OSU-5). that's 10 extra possessions right there for UCLA. Thats how you get 14 more shots up. UCLA outscored OSU 25-11 in 2nd Chance points. That was the big difference in the game. |

So I’m curious. Had you even seen Mara play prior to tonight? As I mentioned in a previous post, I had seen him play 3 times — now 4 — and there is no way he is a one-and-done, first round pick this year. I highly doubt he’ll come out, but a good chance if he did he’d go undrafted. The young/potential thing might get him drafted (more NBA drafting mistakes are made because of it), but not even sure that would help as he’s not really a new age, 7-0+ player. More of an old style big in an NBA that doesn’t value those types as much any more. |
