Wilky... I know you love to cull data that proves some kind of point. However, the fact is if you are going to use "history" then be complete (or at least somewhat objective) and not just the data points that benefit your viewpoint. Since 1999... you probably don't want to go further back... OSU vs UCLA: 12 wins 30 Losses -Home 8-15 -Away 3-15 -Neutral 1-0 Last 10... 3-7 Streak... Lost 3 since E8 run (@ 81-65, 94-55, 62-47... average loss 23.3 pts) WT vs UCLA... 5-12 WT vs Cronin... 1-5 (@ 0-2, Home 0-3, 1-0 Neutral) My point... all the "history" lessons mean zip, zero, nada. Different teams, different circumstances. Games are played in the here and now. Plast "highlights" matter NONE. I cannot make your 12-30 work out, so I am confused as to how you derive it. Between 1999-2014, Oregon State was 7-25 (.219) against UCLA. If I take it back to 1992, Oregon State was 8-38 (.174). I disagree with your final paragraph. Reminds me of "Catch Me If You Can": Unlike a lot of the other teams in the Pac-12, UCLA is a different beast in basketball and has been a different beast for the past 60 years. A win against the Bruins is always an impressive feat. This UCLA team has the talent that those teams in the past 60 years; they just have not put it all together yet. And I am hoping that UCLA does not put it all together until after tonight. Go Beavs! I wasn't going to research what I knew was a lopsided rivalry, so "my" numbers came directly from the OSU game site/"history". Which have been known to be off, but did have a game by game listing.

Wait. So unlike a certain excuse maker on here to insulate Tinks, we actually have a chance tonight lol?

Wait. So unlike a certain excuse maker on here to insulate Tinks, we actually have a chance tonight lol? 40% chance according to ESPN. I've posted it twice in different threads.

Wait. So unlike a certain excuse maker on here to insulate Tinks, we actually have a chance tonight lol? Oregon State really needs to put up W's against these UCLA and USC teams, if this is going to be anything close to a decent season. Otherwise, we are going to have to find another gear later in the year or just need a blinding amount of luck.

Wait. So unlike a certain excuse maker on here to insulate Tinks, we actually have a chance tonight lol? Rest assured... if OSU wins: - they are on the way to prove all the WT naysayers wrong; - top 6 in the Pac12 is coming; - or ?? if OSU loses: - "reasons" will vary, but more than likely have been mentioned numerous times before But, if you are going to get UCLA and USC at home to begin Pac12 play you can't ask for a better time. Not sure either have had 11 combined losses this early coming into Gill. So, let's eliminate tough scheduling as one of the "reasons".

While UCLA is a very good defensive team, they are not a good shooting team. They play a similar methodical style to Virginia, where they try and lock you down on D. This can be very effective, but if they are shooting poorly, you can hang with them if you are shooting it decently. Probably need the game to be in the low 60's to have a shot.

This is the worst combined UCLA and USC teams (just based on record) since 2019. And Oregon State swept those two at Gill. The time before that was 2013. The two Southern California teams did not come to Gill in 2013. The time before that was 2012. Oregon State swept the two Southern California teams at Gill. The time before that was 2010. Oregon State split the two at Gill. 2023 represents one of the worst five combined Southern California pairings in the last 15 years and one of the worst four that Oregon State actually got the shot at at Gill. Probably need to sweep, given the schedule and the strength of the rest of the conference. But Oregon State has a great chance for at least a split. Short of 1-1 sets up for a just awful season.

Posting highlights of the magical Cinderella season triggers some people, esp the ones who hate WT. The 2020-2021 season was one of the greatest in OSU MBB history. Given all the circumstances (being picked last in Pac12 preseason) and the Cinderella effect, it may be the best in the modern era. I never get tired of watching OSU MBB greatness. ”triggers some people, esp the ones who hate WT.” Nope. Nothing. Huh. And I don’t hate WT. I just think he’s a below average basketball coach. I’m sure he’s a fine person.

I think Beavs may matchup against UCLA than USC. I think the Trojans’ backcourt is going to be tough on the Beavs. Not expecting a win against either, but as it has been pointed out neither team is hitting on all cylinders yet. Stealing one would be great.

I think the beavers win tonight.
There are some very odd matchups for both teams.
A physical defensive game and the beavers are gonna outshine on the free throw line and win by 5.

How did Bona get a shooting foul when Bilodeau was on the floor before he went up for the dunk?
