I’m compelled to remember that, as far as we know, JS family is still here in Corvallis. Kids are enrolled in Corvallis public schools. Our indignation over his genuine lack of give-a-s%#t regarding BeaverNation shouldn’t negatively impact his FAMILY. It’s probably very tough on them, too. I'd be surprised if Smith gave his family's welfare in Corvallis too much thought as he faked his way through this past season. I would never have thought it possible, but this fraud has made the likes of Avezzano and all our other football coaching failures look good by comparison. |

Was actually thinking about this earlier this morning - I had visions of angry fans who know where he lives (lived), and them showing up with the torches and pitchforks. Not his wife or kids fault their dad is a douche. It would be lowering ourselves to his level to take our frustrations out on them - we would become classless just like JS. Let's not go there. If the people of Corvallis continue to be gracious and supporting of them, if not their dad, it will just reinforce the poor decision their dad made to leave such a nice and cool place. |

This board right now defines exactly why Coach Smith was right to leave. But even the players are dumbfounded! Dude was the king of Corvallis, and he's acting like he couldn't wait to get outta town. Bad look for Smith.....I'm sure they'll be sweet to him in East Lansing when he loses to Michigan every year. I just hope he is on the "do not hire" list. |

This board right now defines exactly why Coach Smith was right to leave. Because we expect a guy being paid millions to actually...you know...do his job? The idea that you cannot change jobs in college without being a completely deceitful prick is ridiculous. Staying and lying and operating under false pretenses severely damaged our team at a time when we could ill-afford it. Did he even talk to a recruit in the past few months? I am not going to be on the "we all must respect that JS had to do what he did and how he did it" team 100% I get tired of hearing "Smith owes us nothing." Actually, he was making $5mil a year, so I think he owes us everything until he's gone.....he was gone well before the civil war.....the last f%#*ing CW of the Pac 12! And all his ass can think about is his money and resources at Michigan state.....he did our program dirty, period. |

I would imagine you're right, that the kids will finish out the semester in school here. No adult is going to go out of his or her way to be mean to them. Other kids will, as being mean can be part of being a kid, and nothing can be done about that. Smith certainly knew that would happen, though, and decided his kids could deal with it well enough. Other than the crap his kids are going to take from their peers, however, this situation is no different from, or tougher than, any other family moving from city A to city B for a job. The difference for the Smith kids, however, is that, when they get to school in Michigan, they'll be rock stars, not new kids trying to gain a foothold. So I don't think I'll be too concerned about this move's impact on the other members of the Smith family. That's Smith's job, not mine. |

I can't wait to see Smith crash and burn at MSU . I am reminded however that I wanted the same thing for Andersen when he went to Utah State . Unfortunately if my memory is correct he didn't fare that badly but he did bail on them suddenly too and no one has seen him since . Somebody correct me if I am wrong

I wouldn't want to be one his kids in a Corvallis school Kids can be mean...and would be to the smith kids...Finish off the school year in EL with home schooling if need be |
