UTSA is my secret fandom team, don't tell anyone. Them and the Raging Cajuns. I don't remember the details, but I won a big football bet with UTSA in about 2014. At the time my thought was I need to thank them. So four years later, I was in San Antonio. The campus is maybe 7 miles west of the Riverwalk and the Alamo. I went, walked around a while and bought the t-shirt. Told the pretty girl that sold the t-shirt that I was paying my respects for a gambling win. She laughed and said something like San Antonio will do that for you. Anyway, it seemed like a nice place.

No, I hope Stanford leaves if it means a shot at the Big 12. As I've responded to others who have said we have no chance in getting into the Big 12, you don't know anything for a fact yet. Nor do I. And if OSU doesn't get in to the Big 12, then you'll be joining with the San Jose States of the college sports world anyway (whether or not San Jose State is actually one of the teams). I'm not claiming that OSU and WSU will get in, just that there's still reason to believe there's chance for it to happen at some point. Nothing will happen with the Pac-12 Network until the final schools decide what to do with it (if they actually take ownership of it). It's still being used by the Pac-12 for now. They might very well have sold it to Apple if they had reached an agreement to give it broadcasting rights. You are ignoring that the AAC had a "Power 6" designation in the BCS era for a short while and lost it when they went to the 4 team bowl playoff system. If the 4 Pac schools stick together and bring in the proposed schools, odds are the Pac remains one of the autonomous 5. Regardless, no matter what happens there will be plenty on here who hate it before the first season plays out. I buy my tickets to watch OSU and will continue to do so.

The main UTSA campus is like 14 miles northwest of the Alamo, on the outermost ring of the City. There is a campus downtown, a little more than a mile West of the Alamo. There are also two campuses just off of the Northwest and Southeast corners of the Riverwalk. UTSA would be a great add, because it seems like such a great place. The Alamodome is in a great location, and that is where the football team plays. UTSA plays basketball and baseball at the main campus, which is less-than-ideal.

I think it comes down to what the SEC wants to do. The Big Ten and Big Twelve are obviously trying to kill the conference. I have heard that the SEC wants an odd number of Power Conferences. If we combine the American and the Pac-12, that could be a conference that remains Power Five. I personally worry more about bowl contracts.

God, but I hope this isn't true. All the travel of joining and Eastern conference with a s%#tty media rights deal. Who's excited about joining a conference with the Florida Atlantic Owls? And the Temple Owls, too! And the Rice Owls! Oh, boy oh boy oh boy! The only hope that I have is that they will do the same thing with the MWC and make it a giant league with a giant media deal. Do what Chip Kelly advocated for the G5 but don't split the divisions so the best of the G5 can still make the D1 (FBS) playoff. We wouldn't be joining an eastern conference and it's "s%#tty deal" in this scenario. That conference would fold. Byebye. Then 11 of them would join the Pac. ESPN AND Apple would be the likely carriers, but there'd be a good inventory of games with likely 2 or more bidders, so the deal might not be all that bad. I suspect if this deal were to happen, it might be in conjunction with a media deal rather that jyst do it and hope a media deal appears. I personally could see absorbing eight of the American teams but why 11 teams and why those 11?

And Temple and South Florida are the schools from that time that remain in the AAC. So I'm not sure what relevance that has now.

Totally agree that UTSA would be a great add if we do, indeed, go down the new Pac road. Almost a must-add IMO. San Antonio has University of Texas up in Austin and that's it (although Texas is a very big it, lol). The city could be primed for UTSA to make a move up.

Even if 7 or 8 votes dissolves it, could there be a few schools with alliances that might have confused it - I'm not going unless you include my buddy type of thing. I haven't seen anything else pop up on this prospective deal. Could be a whole not of nothing.

I also saw a YouTube video interviewing a friend of Luck's that said Luck told him he was working exclusively for OSU & WSU, not the Pac 12. Interesting.

The sun also sets in the west.......water is wet.....you will have to pay taxes this year......and Beaver fans on here will continue to argue about anything, and everything.

Well... we could be joining the MW by the weekend if Stanford can buy their way (and Cal's) into the ACC. It still just blows my mind that there isn't even a Western pod with that arrangement. They are seriously going to fly everyone out to the East coast vs being in a conference with us.

However, if it dissolves, the remaining schools who did not exit will receive all the exit fees from the teams who left. I am assuming that the same scenario would apply here, it would require all 11 schools to leave the conference at the same time so that there are is no recipient left for the exit fees.
