Stanford is having ongoing discussions with the ACC and B1G. Petitti publicly says the B!G has no further plan of expansion but he's talking with Stanford and presumedly Cal. Yormark says the Big-12 is done for now. The ACC has interest in Stanford and Cal but not everyone is on board with that. Nevarez says the MWC is open to expansion talks. The AAC would welcome the 4 PAC refugees.
Questions for A.D. Scott Barnes. 1. Are Stanford and Cal intent on a PAC rebuild or is that only an alternative option to a desirable conference affiliation? 2. If a PAC rebuild fails to materialize, does OSU have any option of avoiding mid-major status? 3. Would the AAC even be a viable option given the $30m loss of PAC-media revenue and the significant increase in travel expense to play in that conference?

Be a nice baseball league. We could be a top half basketball team. Mostly looks like random leftovers trying to creat a relevant conference for a seat at the table. Here's a graphic I can live what that....ESPN and the Apple? works for me

Add four from the AAC this year for football and basketball. Figure out how to add schools just for Olympic sports to reduce travel. We do that for some of them already. In two years gobble up the top 4 MWC for free. All the while work with Big 10 to get Oregon, Washington, UCLA and USC Olympic sports back into the conference. No Civil War. We play the Ducks in the playoffs only. Help bring some sanity to college sports. Sit back and enjoy Oregon's slow descension into irrelevancy. Backfill our budget with NCAA tournament units for next 6 years.

what are the logos to the right of WSU and Stanford? North Texas Mean Green and the UTSA Roadrunners... Ok...The Mean Machine and Wil "E" Coyote's nemesis! Hell yes! SDSU sort of gets teft w/o a 'natural rival'...OSU vs WSU, Cal vs Stanford, N Texas vs San Antonio, Boise St vs Col State? BUT in the new world, rivalries aren't important, right?

If they can get a deal at around $15 million with escalators, that would be great.
Would rather have Fresno than Boise St. but beggars/choosers.

UTSA is my secret fandom team, don't tell anyone. From what I have seen, those guys would be a real PITA to play regularly. Ambitious, up and coming, punching above their weight.

And, far more donor $ than we have!! Not a fan of 18 team conference. But, if so then play 8 vs your own division to get a true champ (with tie breakers designed) with one cross over. Then division champs play in title game. The 12 teams, 2 divisions, 5 with 4 cross overs is prob long gone.

I will suggest again that an answer might be a merger/alliance with the Mountain West creating either 2 conferences with an allied championship game/tournament (the Pac 12 - Mountain West Alliance) or one conference with 2 divisions (the Pacific Mountain Conference).
Either way allows the MWC's stronger teams to upgrade without an exit fee, and it keeps the $340 million in the Pac's hands. Some of that money could be shared with the MWC schools make it a more equitable deal for them.
I really don't like the idea of poaching schools from other conferences. It would make us no better than the others.
On the football side, I would think that, with the additions of stronger programs like Boise and Fresno, the Alliance could hopefully keep the Pac's bowl agreements.

I can live what that....ESPN and the Apple? works for me Find someone else to take Boise's place and I'm good with it. I'd prefer UNM or FSU if we're gonna be paying for MW teams. Boise is a more valuable university than Fresno State or New Mexico. I would rather take Air Force than some of the American teams on there. Air Force would also be a better choice than Fresno or New Mexico.
