Just curious what the response is going to be if we're suddenly playing Wyoming and New Mexico instead of Stanford and Washington

Good news! We can stop debating ‘why didn’t they build the upper deck wings’
On the other hand, you may have to attend games to watch them when they aren’t televised?

If we get demoted, I'm done with college athletics. It's a crime. We have quality teams (now) and are a Power 5 team. There's no reason either WSU or OSU should be left behind.
If we are, then it's clear that college athletics is moving in a direction that I'm no longer interested in. How can you support that insanity?
Love OSU 'til I die. But maybe I'll look for other ways to show it.

I'll be disappointed - but Beaver football is still going to be a great way to spend a fall Saturday. Boise State fans have had a lot of fun the last 20 years despite not being in a P5 conference.

Lawyer up. Sue the NCAA that there must be a P5 conference in the west, otherwise it is 'geographically based discrimination'. And we all know how any kind of discrimination isn't allowed anymore...
'We/West/Western' will be the rallying cry?
Mostly joking.. but it would be really bad for collegiate athletics with no P5 conference BASED west of the Rockies?

I’d be done with college sports. Well… sports in general because Beavers sports was all I cared about.
We better win the whole f%#*ing thing this year.

I rooted for the Beavs football team when they were (arguably) the worst program in the NCAA. I’ll continue to do so. From my family room, in my home. Possibly a few games at Reser. I’ll attend more than a few baseball games at beautiful Goss, every season, until the $$$$ dry up, and THAT program is “defunded.” The failure to support (funding and institutional wise) the (men’s)basketball program IS looking like the biggest detriment to OSU being invited to a “better” conference. The PAC is DAYED. Long live the PAC. 🥲

My vote would be somewhere in between a couple of these options. I'll continue supporting baseball, softball and soccer. Assuming we don't drop soccer. I'll watch way fewer to no football and basketball.

By the way, I still think USC and UCLA's joint experiment will fail.

As a season ticket holder for 37 years I will continue to watch from the comfort of my home but giving up my two bumper parking spots and 8 tickets. Not worth the money to watch Mtn West games.

It is done.
We will go to a couple of games each year as walk ups if nothing else is going on but having fall weekends just planned around football not so much. Probably better enjoyment following high school football, baseball and basketball now.

I guess this answers the question about how passionate our fans are. Bunch of quitters.
If we join the Big Sky, I will still be there.

You know, there's a chance we're a top 12 team this year and wont get into a BCS level bowl this year. Do that and national eyes will be on the Beavers.
If we're in the MWC or similar level conference the following year, if Smith can convince the kids to stick around for a year, little changes, except the path to being one of 12 teams in the playoffs gets a bit easier.
