I think Canham, and his staff are doing a pretty solid job of keeping this program at a high level. I also think the expectation of some in Beaver Nation is to get to Omaha every year.

The entitlement from the fan base is hilarious now. On the verge of back to back 40+ win seasons, but the coaching staff isn't good enough. Bottom line is we haven't got the pitching staff to get us deep. Some guys develope, some guys plateau. It can't all be on Dorman. |

Well said. 39 regular season wins, 2nd place in the conference, top 20 team in most polls. What a trainwreck... Also, starting pitching has been inconsistent, but the bullpen hasn't. Seems like Dorman knows what he's doing. A person can point to the game yesterday and say "terrible coaching by the pitching coach", but Arizona is a very good offensive team. Stanford gave up 10 runs to Cal yesterday. It happens. Overall, our pitching staff has been one of the best in the conference this year. Offensively, there's a bunch of guys who've improved a lot since last year. Some credit has to be given to the coaches for that. I expect this talented freshman class to improve a lot in the near future as well. We are in good hands with Canham and Dorman. |

I guess we are looking for baseball magic with Larson. To get much farther in the post season we need a couple of guys to really step up. My guess was Keljo to be the Kevin Abel of 23. We don't want to lose this game.

Thoughts on Ferrer staying in rotation for tourney? I would like to see Kmatz Sellers Lattery Larson I've always preferred Ferrer in the pen. And to be clear, I'm not too worried about him. He has a lot of big game experience. Even though he's been more uneven this season, I think we will be able to lean on him in the postseason.....whether it be starting, long relief, or closing. |

Except it's the Pac 12 tournament. Facing the hard facts, we aren't built for a deep run in the postseason. Offensively and defensively, we have our ups and downs, but we're lacking the ice in our veins to dominate the opponent and put them away. We're going to need a fair amount of good fortune to make it through to Omaha. So how does this Pac 12 tournament serve us? What does it do for us? Any other day, I agree 100% with the "win the game in front of you" philosophy. Not today. Winning today would be nice, but losing today won't really matter much. Hosting has been in doubt since the crazy start of Pac 12 play. Well we surely won't host if we lose today.....if we win, and then maybe we keep winning....we have a good shot at hosting......OR maybe the coaching staff already knows we aren't hosting no matter what. I kind of disagree that we aren't built for a deep run. We have the hitting, D, and back end pitching......just can't get lit up like we have against ARZ schools. Or University of Portland… |

A little concerned. Yesterday, I swear that I heard that Kmatz was warming up in the pen. Maybe I was drinking beer a little too early in the day. If true, my concern is that Kmatz obviously didn’t enter the game, and a key guy like Kmatz doesn’t warm up without coming in. Did I hear wrong or is it something like Kmatz experiences some problem getting ready. I probably am worried about nothing and it was the beer.
