That wazzu series loss, being swept by Furd, and blowing two leads at ASU....oh what could've been. I saw D1 had us as a two seed at Arkansas regional......that'd be kinda fun What part of that looks like fun? I've been to a Regional at Baum. It was wretched. Humidity and daily storms with 99% Arkansas fans? Oh joy! As for your first post, if you flip a single loss into a win, Oregon State would have an RPI of about 17 and would be in the catbird's seat for a Regional Host spot. Turn another loss into a win would put the Beavs at about 14. Oregon State would have an RPI of about 8 if you flip two more beyond that. And if we won all of our games we’d be #1…..wtf?

this thread can end...answer to question is now NO very clearly. Still have an outside shot with a great end of the season and a great run in the Pac-12 Tournament.

Still have an outside shot with a great end of the season and a great run in the Pac-12 Tournament. I like it.... you had me at Still have! Oregon State lost its margin for error. The Beavs need to ride a camel through the eye of a needle at this point. Beavs probably need to win the next ten in a bad way or get to the Pac-12 Championship Game. It would be nice for some opponents and opponents' opponents to start playing out of their minds this weekend, as well.

Hosting ? We probably need to focus on one game at a time. ASU and Utah have "outed" our pitching which makes you wonder if Dorman has been doing it with smoke and mirrors all along.

Last time I checked, no one is undefeated in the country this year.
Last night #8 Coastal Carolina lost to Appalachian State 11-0 at home! They obviously need a new Friday night starter. Probably a new pitching coach, too. Maybe a new head coach.

Our Pitching has been outed. With a Team ERA near 4 and Fri. Night guy at near 5 we better find a way to focus on Hitting. As my old coach would say the way this Staff is throwing we have to score 5 runs to stay even. It was actually a little more colorful. The way you ******* are throwing we can't hit as normal. Everyone has to go up the plate without their heads in their ass. Probably can't say those things anymore. LOL

That was a disappointing game obviously. The Utes can hit! We left a ton on base. Honestly, with their pitching we should've scored 20 runs.....lots of missed opps
That loss pretty much killed our hopes of hosting.....I mean I spose if we won every remaining game, including the Pac 12 tourney, then maybe???
Now the pressure is on. We better kick the Utes asses these next two or we are on danger of not making the post season!

I was very pessimistic after the loss yesterday, but a lot of results fell the right way today. There is still a chance that Oregon State can host, if the Beavs get to 40 regular season wins (or Western Carolina games start disappearing). If Oregon State gets to 42 wins after the Pac-12 Tournament, that might...............might be enough. I am assuming realistic but near best case scenario. Every win over 42 makes it more likely.

Someone said early in the season after losing to a very hot Wazzu that we have the misfortune of catching teams at the wrong time. That sums up this Utah series very nicely as well.

The Pilots took the last week off for Finals and Commencement, and the Pilots played BYU before that, so they have not played since the 29th. A very fresh Portland. Hopefully they are rusty? Focus on the Pilots and then move on to talking about the trip to Jackie Robinson. California swept UCLA at Jackie Robinson for the first time since 1991. The Bruins' last series win against a Pac-12 team was Easter Weekend. But the two weekends before that, UCLA was on the road at Dedeaux and in Salt Lake.

Good point on PDX....we should never overlook anyone.....we are not good enough for that. UCLA worries me cuz they have been underperforming.....but they are at home and will be looking to spoil things for us...maybe they sneak in to post season if they sweep us??..team is still talented. Anyone have insight as to why they are not playing well? Injuries?
