Just noting what the play-by-play announcer said on the highlight. Serves me right for watching it but not turning the sound on the whole way through. Yeah, Kwan hit a three-run shot in his rehab assignment in Lake County earlier this year, but it was not a grand slam. Kwan's only professional grand slam was in Texas against the Rangers back in 2022. |

Last six games, 9-22 (.409), 2 2b, 2 HR, 7 RBI.
He needed to heat up.

Cubs send Madrigal to AAA Iowa. He needs a change of scenery. Larnach HR # 6 today in Twins win, Adley 3-5 w/ an RBI but the O's blow an 8th-inning lead and lose, Kwan 1-4 in Cleveland loss. Madrigal broke his hand in his first game in Iowa. The pitcher that broke Madrigal's hand was Auburn's own Trey Wingenter. Wingenter was subsequently signed by the Cubs, and is currently playing in Iowa. |

Went down to San Francisco over the weekend to watch the Giants against the Tigers, and was happy to see Conforto in the lineup.  He got the Golden Sombrero  Andrew Susac was also present as they were commemorating the 2014 World Series champions Giants. |

Conforto has been hitting .387 over the last 10 days, even with the Golden Sombrero. It must have cool to see both Susac and Conforto, though. The Beavs' only 1-2 Round picks between Mitchy Slick & Andrew Moore. The first time that Conforto and Susac have been on the same field since what 2016? Cool! |

According to this Aug. 5 story in the Chicago Tribune, Madrigal is in Mesa, Arizona at the Cubs spring-training site and is very close to receiving his rehab assignment. The story is paywalled. He could do worse than be traded back to the White Sox. Good, him and Adley have had rough last months. Two-run jack, but yes. Kwan led off the game on Saturday with a homer, as well. Kwan is now up to the 13 jacks on the year, which is more than the previous two years combined. Four game hitting streak, as well. (You have to start somewhere.) The Guardians and Orioles are tied atop the AL. |
