McGarry is knocken the crap out of the baseball . . . when he hits it. As of the morning on May 16, he's 31 for 96 w/ 11 hr and 42 strikeouts. I think that's a 574 avg on balls put in play. I wonder what a baseball professional would say? A guy with 42 k's and only 7 walks will soon be starting his second career. But then when you look at the pitches that don't find the catcher's glove, you would think he's ready for Cincinnati. As a side note, he hit for a weekend cycle (Saturday and Sunday games).

Generally they would say that the dude is due to crash back to earth immediately. BABIPs above .400 are rare.

I'm not sure how you're figuring the BABIP, but HRs are EXCLUDED from BABIP (you're only supposed to include balls the defense has a play on). Seems to me his BABIP would be something like 20/43, or .465. Still, ridiculously high, but not as ridiculous as .574.

Given it is the Reds, he'll be up in a month and they will be starting him day one and then cut him to avoid a risk of full year of rookie deal next spring. My Reds are sucking and it's management's fault - worst managed team in the pros.

So curious about his final year at OSU and beyond.

Malone was up in AAA last year but started 2022 at Lake Elsinore, which is not exactly what you want to see after having played in AAA. Malone got hurt about 20 days ago and has not played since.

Hopefully we get to see Larnach back in the lineup.....he’s been sidelined with lower body injuries since May7th but twins website says that he’s starting to resume baseball activities again. Madrigal is still out with lower back issue.....haven’t heard when he’s scheduled to return

Being good enough to be a bullpen catcher in AAA is nothing to sneeze at.

Being good enough to be a bullpen catcher in AAA is nothing to sneeze at. 8 plate appearances is not much work. I was just saying that you shouldn't judge where he is at now by the fact that he spent time in AAA last year.

He’s a got a great glove, but he still needs to hit above .250 to get called up.

Grenier — who played with Rutschman at Oregon State, then joined Baltimore’s 2018 draft class with Rodriguez when he was taken 37th overall — slashed .444/.542/.611 last week. He enters this week on a seven-game hitting streak, with six multihit games in his past 13 contests for a .984 OPS in that span. In his first true stint in Triple-A, the 25-year-old is posting career bests in walk rate and strikeout rate.
