The Cardinals have Hjerpe throwing some bullpen sessions and they let him pitch in one game. He pitched a full season at OSU. He'll take classes, he has about a year to finish his OSU degree.
He'll be rested and fresh come next spring's minor league camp.

Jacob Melton is the #6 prospect in the Astros' organization, #3 OF. Justin Boyd is the #16 prospect in the Reds' organization, #2 OF. |

I guess that I never updated this, but Tyler Malone got promoted to AA San Antonio about three weeks ago. Malone has only been playing about twice a week, but he leads the team in OPS, just as many hits as walks, a tough out. San Antonio plays at Frisco tonight in game one of the Texas League South Division Series and then heads back to San Antonio for games two and three starting on Thursday. I believe that Malone is the only former Oregon State player on a team still alive in the AA Playoffs. Frisco won the opener. Malone didn't play. San Antonio needs to win the next two back in San Antonio. Frisco won game two to complete the sweep. I don't think that any AAA team with an Oregon State player made the playoffs. |

Cadyn Grenier in AAA, after fighting off the Mendoza-line throughout September (he began the month at .207), at last succumbed in the final game of the season with an 0-4 to sink to a season BA of .199.
He batted .152 in September....7 for 46.
Cadyn is one of my all-time favorite Beavs. Wish he coulda solved his hitting 'problem'.

He batted .152 in September....7 for 46. Cadyn is one of my all-time favorite Beavs. Wish he coulda solved his hitting 'problem'. Him and Beau Philip have similar issues. Except Beau hit a few more HR’s. Both hovering around .200, which is not going to cut it. |
