You are getting petty there. The point is 4 starters decided not to come back. There is some kind of problem. Before he edited his Facebook post Taylors dad said we would be shocked why some of the women left. Kennedy and Taya were roommates maybe if everyone was happy they both would be coming back. Taya leaving was not etched in stone.

Taya leaving was not etched in stone. There may indeed be something really wrong, but I just can't see Taylor's dads comments being a very strong indicator. Specifically: a) Some people are shocked easily. Him not standing by his statement doesn't signal a lot of conviction. b) His daughter now went to a program that on the surface looks the same or worse than OSU. - Freshman Ashley Chevalier left mid-season (early Dec), stating that she had to choose between staying at UT or keeping her mental health. She signs with Texas Tech in March. - Seniors Laruen Ebo and Audrey Warren both are leaving to play elsewhere after their senior seasons, still having 1 year of eligibility. - Senior Joanne Allen-Taylor making herself eligible for the WNBA draft (went undrafted), could have played another year of college ball. - Sophomore Latasha Lattimore entered the transfer portal as well after Ebo and Warren choose to transfer. So, 5 players left during or after the season. Sure, 3 were seniors, but if Taya counts, so do they. Allen-Taylor leaving for the WNBA would seem a non-concern if she actually made a roster, but either she got some bad advice, or just was done playing college ball. Regardless, that's 4 others that no longer wanted to play at UT, but still will play college ball. Looks a lot like OSU's situation, yet that's where Taylor decides is a better situation? Obviously I don't know the details, but things don't line up for me to give Taylor's dad a lot of credibility.

What does all that dribble have to do with four starters not choosing to come back to OSU? I dont care about Texas. I care about Oregon State. Discounting the parent of a player is duck like. We didn't want her anyway. Something is happening here and like with Tinkle we look the other way because they are nice guys or have past success.

Something is happening here...players have unprecedented freedom and they are taking advantage of it during the time of a pandemic. I highly doubt this is a LaVonda situation. Let's let this play out and see what we put on the court in November. This man was a phenom not that long ago. I highly doubt he turned into a pain. Scott will adjust and be fine imo. If others want to panic...so be it.

If I remember correctly, didn't Sedona Price leave Texas after she had been injured and didn't feel the staff spent sufficient time fawning over her while she was getting treatment? You make a point that I've been wondering about as well. Many, many schools have seen large numbers of players transferring out. Let's use Arizona as an example - and I'm not dumping on them; I just happen to know off the top of my head that they have 7 leaving. Arizona will fill most, or even all, of those spots with other girls transferring in. Why? Why would somebody who is dissatisfied with things at University A sign to go play at University B where 7 are leaving? Those 7 decided University B was not a bed of roses, and so they opted to leave with, presumably, no specific destination set. Just, there's gotta be something better for me than University B. And half the roster is basically saying that! Wouldn't it be logical for you to think that there must be something seriously wrong with this program if everybody's bailing out? I just don't understand it, and I don't think I ever will.

As hard as it is for me, I’m convinced I just need to take a deep breath and know that this era, too, will pass. We are at the height of the free transfer period. When players have only one free transfer in their career, the activity will slow WAY down. The final state will also require some sanity in the NIL arena. .

I just don't understand it, and I don't think I ever will. I tend to agree that something doesn't smell or feel right with the WBB program. Yes, the landscape has changed, girls can transfer at will, however, why would someone leave if they were happy? Sure, if you feel that you deserve more playing time and you don't see that happening at present school, then that might be a reason to transfer. But, when you're a starter, and a really good one at that, i.e. TJ and to a lesser extent, Brown, it's just weird that they would transfer. Brown, I can kind of understand because she was forced to play a position or a way that she didn't want to or felt that didn't fit her self-perceived strengths. Taylor, I'm just flumoxed by. She was an all-conference player for us. She gets injured and then decides to make a big change. Is there something awry with the medical staff? Yeah, something just doesn't seem right within the program. My gut tells me that there's more to this story than is being let out. Can Rueck pivot, evolve and continue to attract top talent and put together a winning program? I would sure like to believe he could. I have been as big a SR fan as anyone since he came to Corvallis. It's just that the trajectory of this program has definitely been in the wrong direction for more than just last season, it's really been for 2-3 seasons. It feels like a pattern developing, not just a blip. I don't know...it simply doesn't feel right. Something's going on within the program. Does anyone know if SR is dealing with some personal issues? I How much of a reason is needed? It's a newly available option with no penalty. Maybe 3 seasons in Corvallis, OR was enough? Hard to believe that anyone could not love our little Heart of the Valley as much as we do, but tastes vary. And, in the case of Jones, family ties are powerful. To quote Ms Jones: "Excited for this next chapter! It’s official, I’m coming home," As far as I'm concerned, that's the end of the story.
