Certainly not as much as Barnes. I just get irritated about the fans blaming Scott for players leaving. It's an unprecedented time for players and their freedom. Thank goodness we didn't have the portal back in Ralph's day.

Coaches have run off players from the start of time. Ralph did it too. Scott Rueck owes us nothing of an explanation as to why players left. Nothing. Again...players leave for various reasons. I don't want my personal business out there, and neither do the players who transfer out. Very few people get to know the athletes as people. In all sports, fans might be surprised at what some of our athletes are truly like. Some are great...some aren't great as people. I have a little insight as to some of the athletes in other sports. It isn't always the coaches fault... I’d be surprised? Don’t be so dramatic. Its not like any of our male athletes have ever, oh I don’t know, knocked up the head coach’s daughter or anything like that… (too soon?)

Thank goodness we didn't have the portal back in Ralph's day. There was also no internet in Ralph's day. Barnes sticks her foot in her mouth in an interview (as I assume she did in the one posted here), it goes viral in the world of women's hoops immediately - and it stays there.

Yep...pretty cavalier about the portal world we now have to navigate. Makes it tougher for all coaches on so many levels.

In this age of NIL and college players now professional athletes, with fans contributing money directly to them in some cases (and arguably we have been for years less directly), I think it does becomes our business. I’d certainly like to know if they left for a better NIL deal, for instance.

I’d certainly like to know if they left for a better NIL deal, for instance. If it were my child,i wouldn't want anyone official saying why they left. We have no right to know. These are 18-22 year old kids who have unprecedented freedom. There could be a hundred reasons why these kids leave. What happens if a kid is asked to leave because they didn't fit in? Kids may not be going to class, getting into bad stuff, not practicing hard, locker room stuff,in addition to being homesick, not playing enough, health reasons,or other stuff. I don't want my son or daughters coach coming out and airing their dirty laundry. Do you know these athletes and what they are like as people? I don't but have people who I feel are connected and give me quality information. I'm not saying any of our WBB players have been asked to leave or gotten into any kind of trouble. Just saying there are a lot of questions about why athletes leave. The privacy laws are in place for a reason.

Ralph running players off was pretty well-known at the time. He just didn't talk about it publicly. You mean Ralph as a part of his recruiting philosophy wasn’t promoting to his prospective recruits we are a family based program? Give me a break. Scott should be hitting the panic button right about now. 4 prospective starters is not just a sneeze in the air! He lost any experienced depth in his front court. Except he did start Jelena at the end of the season. But it might have had to do with insider info for what might be coming.

Your number should be 3 not 4 as TC was never a “prospective starter” for 2023 OSU WBB.

Feel free to, but you shouldn't.
