You guys did a great job of deciphering that it was most likely going to be KB to the portal after Norm posted his teaser about this over on the portal thread. I'm with the group that thinks if Taylor comes back full strength and with JM's improved play and with the strong freshman coming in that we can move forward without KB and maybe even be better off. I really liked KB's defense, rebounding, and athleticism but her offensive game never really panned out. I wish her well and think she will most likely end up at another power 5 school rather than a mid-major----perhaps at Iowa State to play with her sister. I was just surmising - based on no inside information - only what I (very subjectively) perceived from the games and other public media. I was hesitant to state her name because, heck, I don’t know Kennedy or how she felt about her status with OSU WBB. Everyone has their own individual way of expressing their content or discontent. So while I may interpret her stoic demeanor as, “bearing the weight of the world on her shoulders” and not enjoying being a young, skilled athlete playing a game that she loves, she might actually feel the opposite. So I guessed right - this time. I’m hoping I won’t have to guess again for at least another year. There is no satisfaction in getting those kind of guesses right.

Um...KB is not a mid-major level player. No way. She is an elite athlete who just needs to complete her game, and she has a couple of years ahead of her to do it. Yeah... well some on this board seem to have severe issues with players leaving the program. If it is another program the coach is typically blamed or defamed somehow. At OSU suddenly the accolades we read for KB and Greta are replaced with their lack of talent and they are mid major talents. Funny how that take in and of itself is an indirect negative evaluation of SR's recruiting prowess and the ability to connect with upper tier recruits. Yet while these recruiting "failures" are labeled talent based the new signees of course will all excel and contribute right away?! Funny.

The pairing of Brown and Jones at the beginning of the season had OSU tops in the country in both rebounding and blocks. To think that losing Brown won't be a hard hit for the Beav's is absurd.
Obviously I don't know what drove Brown to leaving, but I've heard many successful players talk about having a hard time in their early days at school/playing but hanging in there and how happy they are that they did. Both Greta and Brown got a lot of playing time here and players have a history of improvement/success playing for Rueck, so I'm really not sure what they think they are going to get at another school that will be so wonderful.
I hope Brown finds happiness and success somewhere else,

These ladies were given plenty of playing time, support, professional coaching, training, travel, media attention etc, etc. OSU is consistently rated as the top 5 college campuses in America, Corvallis is rated the #5 most livable towns in America, unfortunately times have changed, with social media (especially with girls) and the portal, the loyalty to University, staff, players and fan base has diminished, its just the sign of the times, I think the gals just want a new experience, or get home sick, which is a different dynamic as well, most of us couldn't wait to get out on our own, blaze our path, away from our parents. Best of luck to Greta and Kennedy, hope they find what they are looking for.

I would not overlook how big a loss this is...KB brought everything you would want in a big to the game, with the exception of consistent shooting/scoring. It's not an easy thing to land an athletic, 6-6 big....even for the top programs. The Beavers can absorb the loss, at least numbers-wise. But this is not the same as losing Greta, for example. Even if Greta had played better, it's much easier to bring in similar players at that spot. Everyone here laughs at Graves for losing some big recruits, but Rueck is well on his way in the last few years. Hopefully it's more about how the portal has changed the game, not so much a reaction to playing under Rueck.

Like, thanks for the memories, thanks to the school for believing in me, thanks to SR, thanks to my teammates, I'll miss them, KMA, ya'll suck, anything?? I'm assuming there is but haven't seen anything, maybe I missed it. We will surely miss her, she is an elite athlete that maybe just doesn't like the NW, who knows, maybe a better offer from a recruiter from The PORTAL will slowly kill college sports.....

Very bad loss for us. The world has changed a lot since 2014. The portal will cost many teams. We may need to rethink. Will struggle if we do not. Hope some of You think before you post your joy of others misfortune. Also hope some of You stop criticizing those that leave. Childish.

You’ve criticized the team all year for being slow, but now nobody is allowed to criticize players who leave? Many people have criticized Brown all year for her inefficiency on offense, yet suddenly when she transfers people begin to have issues with the criticism. I've really never seen some posters have issue with the criticism Kennedy (and, to a lesser extent, Greta) received throughout the season until they decided to transfer. Had they been coming to their defense all season, I'd clearly understand, but it seems a little odd to wait until they announce they're leaving to do so.

The smugness of some posters here is amazing. I would be more worried if Scott is able to get it done now. I don’t think he enjoys portal shopping or recruiting . Another whiff in the NCAAs and it could go the way of Tinkle

Yes you are right this time but you originally were pretty strong about there not being any transfers like the team was in a protective bubble from the rest. Was it hopeful thinking or did something change? Do you see anymore falling?
