They way I look at is this. The post season play always taxes the pitching staff. Guys are getting more innings now than they probably expected to see back in January. These inning are giving Dorman a lot of information on how to work them and how to develop them. Maybe our team pitching numbers don’t look good, but development is happening. We’ll be stronger down the road. I agree....sometimes the kids gotta grow up fast. This has been one of those years....trial by fire due to key injuries. Lawson may have grown up a bit. I think he is going to be key down the stretch. Brown showed us something as well. I'd like to see Carpenter rebound cuz he has potential. Sometimes coaches gotta give a guy several chances to prove he is or isn't toast.....I think Verburg has proven he IS toast, and won't be put in in meaningful situations.

I don’t believe anyone on the team is “toast.” They are all too young and too good to say that. They need to learn and develop through time and practice. I think Verburg has to learn to throw again. He needs to understand his body better and respect its limits…which becomes a necessity for a 40 year old man but doesn’t make sense to a 20 year old stud. I think he can figure out what he can and cannot do and be an effective pitcher again.

I hope ur right, but at this point he can't be trusted by the coaching staff to perform.......can he be trusted again? Sure, anything is possible. He'll get chances again in low pressure situations. I hope he can re-gain his form.
