Arizona also got Jade Loville. They should have some added scoring punch next year.

Adia Barnes said she could find 5 good players in the portal if she needed them, and she's proving she can pick up some great additions. Fields is a scorer, although I might add an inefficient one when it comes to FG%. Loville is quality and Martinez can put the ball in the bucket as well. These three should really benefit Cat Reese, Lauren Ware, and company. It feels like a definite upgrade to me.
I also think USC will benefit from Koi Love. She is better than what she showed in Arizona. Koi Love and Kayla Williams are good additions for USC, but they had big losses in Jenkins and Pili. It remains to be seen if they can do better than tread water.

The last thing we need is ANOTHER shooting guard. No doubt! Of the current roster of 10 players, 6 have a natural position of shooting guard.

Yeah, but who do you really have as your wing/SF? For most teams in women's basketball, the shooting guard and small forward/wing, are fairly interchangeable. I would not be opposed, in fact I would be in favor of, adding another combo guard or combo 2G/SF. If I were looking at the team with just these 10 players, I'm guessing AJ is the starting small forward. Maybe it's Talia, Bendu, and Shalexxus.
I don't think the roster is completed yet, but right now the wing position would be the big question area that has a question mark as starter, unless you consider Bendu your wing forward, then the shooting guard position is the one that is a question mark.

My hope is that Gardiner plays the 3 next season. Otherwise Beers or Gardiner are going to be someone's backup. If that has to happen I do not foresee a next season being a great one.

Sadly, I think you are right that next year is a rebuilding year. Looks like the portal opportunities are quickly closing. Another two years out to finish in the upper echelon of the pac 12. Of course the sunshine pumpers are open to a different opinion. That is fine.

At least a backup PT. Guard and 4or5 are essential for next year or we be hurting.

A team that starts out with a lot of new talented parts and grows into something formidable as the season goes along. Sydney's freshman season was one of the most fun seasons I can remember. We went from 10-21 the previous season (with Jamie, Ali, Deven & Ruth) to 24-11, playing in the Pac-12 tournament championship game and an NCAA tournament win. They started the conference 2-4 and then went 11-1 in conference games plus 2 W's in the conference tournament. I'd love to see another of those "rebuilding" seasons.

I don't know...drastic change is in effect. I'm just not sure that rebuilding years will be looked at as a positive by players. Might just give some a reason to bail.

Not to be confused with Stanford's "reloading" years. A down year for them is a second place finish in the P-12. Sigh!

USC has picked up a very nice backcourt in the portal with the additons of Koi Love, Kayla Williams, and now Destiny Littleton (South Carolina). They are now up to 4 additions to help balance their 5 losses.
