Would she have to sit a year as a late entry, or is that rule not applicable for a grad transfer? Doesn't apply to grad transfers, lucky for OSU should she come here According to this article the May 1st deadline to enter the portal and automatically receive immediate eligibility applies to Graduate transfers also: 247sports.com/Article/NCAA-transfer-portal-deadline-May-1-cutoff-primer-transfer-rules-186490612/Transferring student must request a waiver for immediate eligibility if entering the portal after the May 1st deadline.

Highly doubt a waiver for a grad transfer would be denied if they had yet to transfer previously. Good to know it's not automatic like it was.

A couple take aways for this article. These are the rules for entering the portal... 1. Student-athletes must be academically eligible. 2 Student-athletes cannot have direct or indirect communication with their new school prior to entering the portal. Even if it was purely by accident or in innocence, it's hard to not think that Taya and Aleah didn't violate #2 by having conversations about Duke. They are best friends. How do you ignore the elephant in the room when they are talking to each other?
The other thing I noticed about reasons for a waiver was this, "Common assertions in waiver appeals include a player’s mental health". In the current times we are living, I think any player can use 'mental health' and get a waver without any arguments. Apartments can't even keep dogs/cats out because people need their support animals. Can you deny anyone who claims a mental health issue? It wouldn't be easy these days.

Josie Williams to Louisville.
It seems some schools are effectively using the portal to reload. Oregon St. is not one of those schools.

You mean OSU isn't a top 10 ten team coming into the next season? I have to admit that Josie deciding to transfer to a team that is returning it's top two posts from last season doesn't seem like a smart choice, but it's her choice to mess up. 😁

Maybe not nationally though.

Are we sure that the coaching staff was even pursuing Josie Williams? I think they should have, but I’m not confident that they did.

I can't answer your question. It seems the Beavs are a little thin up front but perhaps they are fine with it. If Jelena, Tamia, and Raegan each average between 25-30 minutes per game the Beavs are in good shape up front. Those three would make an inexperienced, but very talented, group at the 4/5 position. That may be a lot to ask of three players who have all missed major time with injuries in the last few years, and with two being freshmen, and the other never averaging more than 12.5 minutes per game, but if the Beavs don't add another big, the only other choice is to play a 4 guard lineup. I actually like the idea of Jelena, Raegan, and Tamia getting 30ish minutes per game. I just hope there isn't any injury issues. The Beavs have had some bad luck with injuries the last few years.

We are stretching reallly thin at post. Can we use AJ AND THE OTHER TRANSFER WHO IS ALSO 6/1 as threes if we are down one or two 3,4, and 5,s? On paper I don’t like this. But we will see games Reagan Timea and jelena. Will be picked on by them refs!
