I have a very hard time seeing the Cavinders going to different schools. If somebody only wants Haley but not Hanna, very unlikely it's gonna happen. I can see the concerns about playing both at the same time for big minutes, but I'm sure they'll find a home somewhere that will give them an opportunity to do that.
Gonzaga has been more or less platooning the Truong twins for a couple years, and I doubt you could find a GU fan who doesn't wish their coach would play them both together more often and play them more minutes. Listed at 5-9 and 5-8, so a bit taller than the Cavinders, but still smallish guards.
Was it bad for OSU and UO when Pivec and Ionescu were grabbing so many rebounds?

"Those old enough will remember the Van Arsdale twins..." I was completing my Master's Degree when the Van Arsdale boys were tearing up Indiana basketball... GO BEAVS!! Good to know I'm not the only old fart on this board! Never really thought for a minute that I was, but nice to have confirmation. Dick and Tom if I remember correctly.

Pivec and Ionescu were both 1st team all Pac players, solid, muscular and nowhere near 5'6...They both played on powerhouse teams with other good rebounders and scorers on their squads..... It's possible, but I can't imagine either of the Cavinder twins being anywhere near Ionescu's or Pivec's level of basketball competence......If they are, then hell yes, I'd take them in a heartbeat and sort everything else out later..... GO BEAVS!!

GO BEAVS!! It's not a direct comparison. I haven't seen a lot of them, but I've watched some games here and there. Remains to be seen how their game's would translate to a P5 conference team. Whatever else you want to say, Haley can certainly stuff a stat sheet. She's close to being on pace for 2000 pts/1000 rebounds, not many guards have done that. Decent assist numbers as well. Fresno St. was fairly good their Fr./Soph year, not so much this last season.

If social media gives any clues, it looks like Greta is likely to end up at Michigan, Colorado, or Illinois. Illinois has a brand new staff so that may be more appealing than it seems.

Some of my thoughts on guards. Most of these players are followed by OSU coaches recently: PG: - I like the Cavinder twins, but my gut tells me they’re headed to a school in Florida or Arizona. - Van Gytenbeek makes a lot of sense. Within the Pac-12 footprint, knows the Pac-12, knows some of our players. Good shooter and true PG. I think she could be a lesser impactful Aleah. - Maddie Krull from South Dakota intrigues me. She was a relatively highly rated recruit. Didn’t have a great sophomore campaign, but she was a key player on a really good USD team. I’ll say she follows her coach to WVU. - Kayla Williams from UC Irvine would be a nice get. She’s another one from the Pac-12 footprint and she was a top-100 recruit. SG/W
- Sarah Bates from Georgia Tech may be a possibility. OSU would be her fourth school. She’d be a shooter off the bench. Probably wouldn’t log a ton of minutes, but could be a decent role player. Started her career at UCSB. - Kemery Martin would be a solid option. She has good length and versatility. She’s been inconsistent at Utah, but she had a good sophomore year when she was All Pac-12 HM. - Brynna Maxwell would add a much needed sharpshooter. She’s given OSU fits over the years and perhaps she could settle into a Kat Tudor role if she works on her defense. - Stephanie Visscher from SFA has a solid all around game. I’m hesitsnt about mid-major transfers, but she’s had a solid career for a really strong SFA program. - Bendu Yeaney may be looking to return home for her last stop. Started for an AZ team that was the national runner up. Not a big scorer, but a solid player whose defense, athleticism, experience, and toughness would benefit OSU. I’ll look to add a few later. Maddie Krull is a very interesting player to keep an eye on. She was rated #67 by Hoopgurlz 2020, and had two solid freshman years. She was fourth on the team in scoring because the top three scorers were all upperclasswomen, who were either 4th or 5th year seniors last season. Her shooting percentages haven't been great, and none of her stats have been remarkable, but again, she came to a team that already had 3 star players who ate up the stat sheets. Her and Jenny are following each other on twitter. She may very well head for WVU, but if she wants to stay in the west Oregon State would be a great option. 3 years of eligibility would be nice.

Jones appears to be on a visit to Arizona. This is one of the many things I don't understand about this entire portal thing. Arizona has seven - seven!! - players who are leaving there. Shouldn't this be nature's way of telling you this might not be the ideal climate for your 'mental and physical health'? IF OSU is presumably a frying pan, isn't Arizona a fire? I am more and more convinced that many, if not most, of these girls are jumping into this because it seems like everybody else is doing it, so it must be the right thing to do. It is an absurdity.

A case of the grass is greener over there. It is not a good look for America's youth that they bail on a commitment so easily. And I have no idea a player would want to go to a team that loses so many players. Maryland is the perfect example and ua might be as well, time will tell.

When these players were being recruited out of high school they and their parents were continually wined and dined and their egos stroked. Then they picked a school and the wining and dining more or less ended and the work began. Now entering the portal they can start the recruiting process and be stroked all over again. Can't believe this many players are unhappy with their initial choice after usually just a year or maybe two.

I guess I'm surprised at the "surprise" regarding the transfer portal.
The not liking your first choice is pretty common among college students. Why wouldn't it be the same for college athletes?
The portal % is no where close to the retention rates of most colleges. Kids have been changing colleges since the beginning. The portal just eliminated the penalty for the first transfer.
