“ We’ll add some other players to the roster and make some changes to the roster.” Barnes sounds like the GM of an NBA team. She has made offers to players even when she has no open scholarships to offer. She’s accelerating the WBB towards the worst of pro sports, thinking she’ll be fine as one of the “have” programs. My distaste for her is on the rise. It seems most probable to me that the players had told her they were going. So she's telling folks her plans for the future. I think Rueck was told about Greta's departure at the end of the season and he's been looking ever since for a replacement. At least I hope he has. Rueck just doesn't get asked by the media like Barnes does. Or he just isn't willing to talk about things. I’d that’s the case for Barnes, why hasn’t that player entered the portal? It’s only to the players disadvantage to wait if they do plan to leave. It smells more like the player was told to move on and doesn’t really want to.

Time to put that popular phrase every program was using pre-pandemic to bed now. Stale and worn out.

They can say "no comment", but so far is I can tell no reporter has asked anyone involved any questions about what is going on. So Steve, did you ASK? And if so please tell us what the reply was. And my reply to Nick would be that there is no other program in the country that lost 4 previous starters to the portal. The vast majority of the players in portal are bench warmers who want to try their luck somewhere else in the hope of becoming a starter. And on the entitlement thing, the only thing we are entitled to are death and taxes, so is that all we should strive for? Do you really think asking reporters questions is beyond the pale??

Barely newsworthy, no offense Ms Brown but I don't think they will notice, best of luck wherever. Now we just need UCLA to make it a dozen.

I just noticed that Aronette Vonleh is now following Jenny Huth.
Oops... I take that back. Jenny is following Aronette Vonleh. Let's hope there is mutual interest.

I just noticed that Aronette Vonleh is now following Jenny Huth. Oops... I take that back. Jenny is following Aronette Vonleh. Let's hope there is mutual interest. I've always been intrigued with Vonleh - but, for some reason, even as a local athlete, she never got much press anywhere in Oregon... As an athlete, she has good size, pretty good mobility, and plenty of lower body volume -- which is a good thing in a power post player. Don't know if she has any interest in OSU, but she sure should know plenty about our program and, importantly, about Corvallis as a destination. Jelena may be here only 1 more year and I don't think we have another post-in-waiting....Unless that is where Bears (sp?) ends up.... I've asked several times on this board about Vonleh's game when she was in h.s. - but it seems no one really follows her all that closely.... Any thoughts on her value to the program if Rueck decides to pursue her? GO BEAVS!!

I didn't get a chance to see Vonleh in High School, but was curious as to whether the Beavs ever showed any interest in her. It didn't appear so, and that may have been because of the number of bigs in the Beaver program....or maybe they were interested but we never really knew it. Either way, the 'Bigs' are just about gone now and the Beavs could us one. I thought Vonleh started out pretty good for Arizona in non conference play, but when the real competition started, they didn't really give her any chance to show herself from what I could see.
I hope the Beavs are looking for at least one forward/post. Daniels, Vonleth, Pili (who isn't really that big), or even River Baldwin may be a few they take a look at. It's going to be an interesting summer for sure.

Vonleh started her senior season ranked #38 by Hoopgurlz. Then they made a change in who did the actual ranking, and she dropped to #100.

I would pass on Vonleh. She was good in HS primarily because she was bigger than everybody else. That doesn’t translate to the pac-12. Remember Terea Green? Likely the same result with Vonleh.

Agreed. My niece played against her in HS and she was a good HS player, but I never thought she would make it in a power conference.
