Probably my bias, but I suspect the second part is going on at AZ , maybe U of zero: View AttachmentArizona and Louisville seem to be the biggest culprits of that. Both had full rosters but are regularly very active the portal. I’m not sure that Parrish and Scherr are the types you’d want to get rid of to make space.

UConn lost 3 - doesn’t seem problematic for them but one looks to be a cultural leader

Would really like to see OSU lands USF transfer Elisa Pinzan. IMO, she’d be a huge difference maker at PG. Would pair nicely with Talia and AJ in the backcourt. A few others who may be worth keeping an eye on: - Sarah Bates, Georgia Tech/UCSB - Shalexxus Aaron, Texas Southern/USC - Alissa Pili, USC - Jordyn Jenkins, USC - Kemery Martin, Utah - Brynna Maxwell, Utah Dalayah Daniels, Cal Probably realistically need 2-3 guards, a center, and a forward at this point. Ideally a starting PG, backup PG, backup 2, starting/backup 3, and then a 4 and 5. I see Jenny H started following Elisa on twitter late today, even though Elisa says she doesn't use twitter.

I also noticed that Hana Muhl's Father is giving a follow back to Jenny H on twitter. I hadn't noticed that before although Jenny started following him a few days back.
Florida State grad transfer guard Morgan Jones is an interesting player as well 13.8pppg, 5.7rb, although she isn't a 3 point shooter, which normally is a trait of an SR guard.

Sydney Parrish has decided to head home to play for IU, much to the delight of Hoosier fans that were hoping she would:

I watched that game she isn’t bad with some quicks and very confident. But that game the ducks were in bad shape because of injury

Speaking of going home, I'm really curious to see where the NW players end up. A combination of two or three of Daniels, Jenkins, Maxwell, Corosdale would really help some team and I think there is a good chance two or three of them end up in the Northwest. I may be way off, but I think Washington may have the best shot at them, although Daniels and Jenkins could sure help Oregon State, and Oregon could use one as well.

Ucks has another one to the portal. Pinto who averaged about 2 points a game and had a lot of bench time. In fact I have never heard of her before or know anything about her. Not a big loss for them. Her play didn't amount to a hill of beans. Not from what I heard. I've been told she can catch fire easily.

I will be curious to see how this new coach at Washington works out. If she can get the Huskies back in the top half of the Pac-12, this will be another problem for Rueck's recruiting. Rueck will have a harder time cherry picking top players from the Seattle area.

I'll drop the subject after this post, this article was written just before all the transfer announcements, but the talk about Barnes , 16 players and new recruits with no scholarships available....I found interesting: www.azdesertswarm.com/basketball/2022/3/24/22994228/arizona-womens-basketball-whats-next-recruiting-portal-reese-paris-clark-yeaney-pellington

I have a hard time speculating on who we can get when we can’t keep the foundational parts of our recruiting classes

“ We’ll add some other players to the roster and make some changes to the roster.” Barnes sounds like the GM of an NBA team. She has made offers to players even when she has no open scholarships to offer. She’s accelerating the WBB towards the worst of pro sports, thinking she’ll be fine as one of the “have” programs. My distaste for her is on the rise.

My distaste for her is on the rise. It seems most probable to me that the players had told her they were going. So she's telling folks her plans for the future. I think Rueck was told about Greta's departure at the end of the season and he's been looking ever since for a replacement. At least I hope he has. Rueck just doesn't get asked by the media like Barnes does. Or he just isn't willing to talk about things.

My distaste for her is on the rise. She's transparent. How is what she doing really any different than other college programs in other sports. Kids on scholarship are told they are expendable all the time. The portal just made it easier to revamp your roster. College athletics are basically "pro" in how the NIL and portal work. Not the end of college sports, but of it as we knew it. The combo of the NIL and portal will only increase the chasm between the have and have not programs. The NCAA as it exists will disappear or be an auxiliary organization for universities that want to return to the old ways. Let the others form their own semi pro conference!
