Beaver Nation was great for the Seniors - classy, thanks.
If anyone can post the post game interview with Ron and Dre, I'd appreciate it.
Great win - GO BEAVS!

At the Rebounders event after the game, Scott said they had a recruit at today's game. Anybody shed any light on that?

There were times in the game where I saw OSU teams of old that fought and scrapped for every possession. And there were times when they stood around waiting to see who'd get the rebound (almost only in the first half).
I don't know what's going on with Brown. Beginning of the season she was averaging double figures in her rebounding. Now she's getting 3-5 a game in the last 6 or so games. I understand the scoring problems because she was training for the 4 and not the 5 and she's just never been comfortable/practiced for scoring around the basket. But why is she having problems getting rebounds.
Mit on the other hand is showing real talent in rebounding and has the grit to go after blown layups to get the rebound and try again (one of Jones' gifts that we've really missed).
Greta for the last three games, no TO's.

Dissapointed the coaching staff didn't recognize earlier that we needed to have guards in the game who played defense. The Cal guards can flat out shoot and convert if they don't have a hand in their face. Finally, in the middle of the 3rd quarter, OSU Coaches put in Tea Adams, Noelle Mannen, and AJ. It was these 3 that were responsible for Cal's poor shooting in Q3. Why did Rueck take them out? As soon as these 3 went to the bench, our team was lost again. Hopefully, coaches will be quicker to adjust in next 2 games. Tara V. (Stanford) makes the best in game substitutions, and I hope we get better. Not sure why KB is struggling with the 1-foot shot? She flat out missed wide open lay-ins again. Mental block? I really like KB, and hope she gets it going down low--we need her. Taya was her usual awesome self. My game ball goes to AJ. She is fearless, and believes in herself, and is an awesome defender. Really gets after it. This kid is going to be a good one. We have to get over making unforced turnovers. Half of our turnovers were 100% mental errors. On we go to UTAH/Colorado. Gotta play better to win on the road. GO BEAVS.

Her court time has been limited. But, in her limited minutes she has shown the capability to excel on both ends of the floor. She's the best defender in that class. And has the length and athleticism to guard multiple spots. And, she is hyper aggressive yet under control. She needs to stay at OSU!

An ugly win against a Cal team that plays really hard but is a few players short of getting out of the Pac-12 basement. Who would have thought a lineup of Mannen, Adams, Marotte, Mack, and Mitrovic would have changed the game for OSU. Shocking to me how much Brown struggles to finish. She’s no Jones or Gulich around the rim.The forward and center positions are where Cal has recruited well, but it was their guards that gave us troubles today.
What can Brown do for you?

Just got through watching the game. A couple thoughts. Taya, please come back. I really like watching her play.
Our freshman class can be great, not only the three guards but Jelena is technically a redshirt freshman. I don't see any of them not reaching their potential.
TvO is an animal, she goes one on three and scores anyway. In a year or two she could become basically unstoppable.
Jelena has decided that when she gets a hand on the ball it is her rebound. She is getting feisty.
Greta and AJ are becoming defensive stoppers. I really hope their shot comes to them.
I can't wait to get Kennedy back to the 4, she is so much more effective from there. Good thing she is very good on defense.
Welcome back Ellie, we missed you Friday.
Téa and Emily both had good games and looked so comfortable out there.
Finally Noelle, in this game she showed that she was not a liability out there. She could always shoot but now the rest of the game is slowing down for her. As far as I can remember she didn't lose the player she was guarding, the one thing she was prone to do. Even when guarding a quicker player she used good angles to cut them off.
Looking forward I can see a way to win in the mountains. The previous 5 games were against top 25 teams, that is a hell of a stretch. Just think of we had a make up game against Cal instead of Stanford.

believeinthebeavs, you are correct about Noelle. Her defense was outstanding. We really needed her today, as those quick Cal guards were getting wide open shots. Noelle was in their grill the entire time, and made them work hard just to even get a shot. Way to go Noelle. Hopefully the coaches file this away and don't forget that Noelle matches up well against quick guards.

My pre-game observation was that they are not able to beat even the worst teams in the league by a significant point margin. Looks like today they might not even manage to win. Did you miss that on Fri. UO only beat Cal by 5pts at home?

At the end of the game one point is a significant margin of you are the team ahead. Sorry to spoil your day but the Beavs managed to win.

She's got the athleticism to play in this league, and has got the hops to be able to elevate over most defenders. Nice looking jumper as well. I too hope Rueck keeps her in the fold and out of the portal.
