Maybe some don't have short memories?? Our preseason schedule is by no means that challenging. Sort of like a 20 run outing, 10-1 start to a season, and go just over .500 the last 50 games. If Fritsch is actually seriously injured that's 1/3 of the potentially potent starting staff. These first dozen or so games should be Ws or highly a close, competitive loss or two. Especially if this team is a top 4 Pac12 team. A wait and see attitude isn't negativity or skepticism. You have a lot of good stuff here. A wait-and-see attitude is pretty much the definition of skepticism. Doubting Thomas had to wait and see to believe. Actually it's not. Often equated however. Being a skeptic is often used as being doubtful or incredulous to a possibility. Waiting to see, in terms of athletic performance (or in this case the premature assumption thereof), is based in realism. There are too many factors that go into a season. Certainly two games no matter the opponent means very little in the whole scheme of things. Two wins are great. But, would two close, extremely well played losses mean less? More? Equally as uninformative as there are 54+ games left? A skeptic doesn't believe it's (OSU's team success or level of play in this case) isn't possible/plausible. I'd guess there's some overlap depending on our individual interpretation. However, I personally believe this OSU team has great potential. But, for me/some it's far too early to have any solid conclusions on this team.

No one has “solid conclusions” about this team, except that they look improved…the best team Canham has put forth. Sure, I mentioned getting reservations for Omaha, but if you couldn’t take that for a fan’s exuberance, then you haven’t been around sports much. EVERYONE knows that there’s a lot of baseball left and that the season takes its toll. If things were locked up already, who would even bother to watch? Everybody knows this. So what’s the point in saying it? Even while we are talking big, we’re making sure that we have our lucky shirt ready for the next game, and we’re sacrificing live chickens. So let us enjoy the moment. It’s a good start. Lots to be excited about.

Although sarcasm based your last post borders on such. But, you also might want to scan the posts again and notice which "faction" actually "mountains" more and seems a little bit incredulous that excitement doesn't consume everyone. The "over the skis" crowd doesn't really like doses of reality... differing view points.

Tell me what you saw that suggests the Beavers aren’t a decent team this year, and I’ll respond. Telling us not to be excited and talking down the opponent is just being curmudgeonly. Reality? Show me reality. Reality is what we saw today and yesterday. Not the future. That’s not it. Reality is today. Really don’t see a personal attack in my post to you, but if you feel hurt, then I apologize. I simply want to understand what the use of a post that says we’d better wait and see before we get excited. What’s wrong with seeing the good in the team NOW?

Irmi you are now excited about posts/posters (MOUNTAIN!) and making s%#te up.
I could have missed some specific posts. But, let's take two examples: - no one said OSU wasn't a "decent" team. Now the first two opponents sure...
- no one told anyone else it's wrong to be excited...
Lastly, posting/posters may have specific motives. Although interpretation is up to the reader (hence my calling out your falsehoods). I can only speak to my posts, but they are not meant as anything other than my thoughts. Period. They aren't meant to get you or anyone to change their mind or mood.
So, be excited. And, freaking n continue. You be you. Just know some will not be and have valid reasoning for that.

If you can’t see hypocrisy in posts that claim Gonzaga and New Mexico are bad teams while also stating that two games is not evidence enough for the Beavers to be called good, then, my friend, I can’t help you. My so-called falsehoods you can identify but not the hypocrisy of judging two teams based off two games and giving a third team a wait and see approach. Hmmm.

We have good hitting so far. Lots of walks. New Mexico is not great., Gonzaga we shall see. My only concern was the 5 runs by multiple pitchers. No reason to not execute . Beyond that well worth watching.

So far I like what I see. I have been to all the games in Suprise so far and we are going to the double header today. Gonzaga is not as good as they were last year in my opinion. Will see how deep their bullpen is today in Game 1. They rode their pitchers pretty hard yesterday. Naughton looked gassed when he finally got the hook. Really enjoying our 1st trip to Suprise. Go Beavs!!

It ain’t belief if you see it with your own eyes, is it? λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς Ὅτι ἑώρακάς με Θωμᾷ πεπίστευκας μακάριοι οἱ μὴ ἰδόντες καὶ πιστεύσαντες Jesus said to him [Thomas], “Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.” The key word is "πεπίστευκας" It's not "πέπεισμαι" That would be more like convinced/persuaded. According to Ἰωάννης (John), Thomas πεπίστευκας (believes/believed). John 20:29 is usually better read in conjunction with Luke 24:36-43, where the disciples believe that they are seeing a ghost and not Jesus. But Jesus asks that they feel his body to make sure that he is real and watch him eat food (because of a belief at the time that ghosts cannot eat food). The whole point in John is to speak to a wider audience, so it is important that he notes that Thomas still only believes/believed, as opposed to is convinced/persuaded. In all reality, though, your post is really a difficult psychological and philosophical question that is sort of touched on in the Gospel but not really delved into. hey glove, please move this post to the study of theological doctrines of the Bible board.

On a side note, we are staying at the same hotel as the Lobos. The players that we were around were very polite, engaged in conversation and in all are a very classy group of players. Hats off to the New Mexico coaches and players.

"I don't need someone to tell me, 'hey you've got great kids' and 'hey you guys really took care of the hotel' and 'hey you were very courteous on the plane,' but you lost all three games. I think you can be very courteous on the plane and take care of the hotel and be very nice and kick someone's ass."

Now we know why Boyd is in right field. IMHO Logan is better already than Troy. He is also hitting better than Troy!

14 innings into the season and this looks to be a complete team. Hits for contact, can hit for power. Can play small, they fly around the bases. The defense in the field is...outstanding! The remaining question is pitching depth, and we will find out the answer soon enough. I think I’ll withhold judgment until we play a good team, but so far, so good. Now would be a good time to make some kind of judgement.
