There isn’t anyone here who HONESTLY thought we could hang four quarters with ‘furd, is there? They are elite. We “ain’t.”

Stanford outscored OSU 24-4 on points off TO's. And outscored OSU 14-0 on fast break points. It's not going to end up well with those sorts of metrics.

You have a weird childhood grudge against SR and thus have zero credibility when it comes to OSU WBB. No, I’m just realistic. They are not the Elite program many people here think they are. Please provide backup to your ridiculous claims. No one here thinks we’re elite.

Anna Wilson is one of the best defenders I've ever seen. She recovers from ball fakes very quickly to disrupt passes and shots. One of Stanford's goals tonight was to limit our three-point shooting. They succeeded in that especially in the first half (0-4).

Bottom line is we need better players on offense and defense and more scorers. Just not enough tools in the shed at this point. It’s turnover machine team. No point guard. I am watching the game Oh good grief, people going on and on about the Beav's TO's. Of the 10 other pac-12 teams playing to tonight 7 had more than the Beav's. TO's are not the reason they lost this game.

It’s turnover machine team. No point guard. I am watching the game I was watching it as well. Stanford is just better at every position than we are. Beavs are having a hell of a time just getting into their halfcourt offense. Maybe it is more than just having a half court offense? We could call it the wishbone offense because almost nobody plays that way anymore?

It has been a brutal schedule the last 6 games, losing 5 of them. I am guessing we need to win 2 out of the last 3 games and at least one in the conference tournament to make the NCAAs. It would also make our win over Oregon look better if they finished strong and somehow beat Stanford. You hit that nail on the head. That is what is needed at this point.

I suppose it depends on how one defines "elite". If "elite" programs, by definition never suffer through "down" seasons where they don't either win, or contend late for their conference championship, then I (personally) don't see that as a "realistic" expectation for OSU WBB. There are very few of those programs. Just my opinion. I'm certainly not angered by the fact that others may disagree.

The Beav's under Rueck will almost always lose the TO battle. His game plan depends on winning the rebound battle, and that did not happen this or the last game. Why he's chosen to start Codding instead of Mack is beyond me. Mack is the 2nd leading scorer this year and has been doing great lately, while Codding's main skill seems to be .... I don't know, what is her skill? With Mack they have a much better inside defense and rebounding.

In the Pac-12 WBB there is only one elite program and that is Stanford. I too like you struggle with the word elite and what it means as defining a program.

I’d have to say that is maybe one of the best girls basketball teams that has been around in a very long time. The Stanford team. I don’t think I have ever seen a Stanford team shoot the three that well. This may be one of Vanderveers best. Maybe top five ever in girls bball. They can run on all 5 cylinders. Except for our fourth quarter we did pretty good.

Yeah, Stanford is really good. They are really athletic. They also couldn't miss last night. Everything was going in for them.
One thing I'm getting really tired of is while they were able to be very physical against us on D, we could hardly touch them without a whistle. Tough to even stay in the game with a team like Stanford when that is going on. I doubt it makes a difference in the outcome, but I sure would like to see some decent officiating in the game - ie, when Ellie Mack straight caps a weak shot by Lexie Hull swallow your frigging whistle ref! And IF that is a foul, then you better be calling them for bumping us when were driving and shooting.
If/when Stanford plays a game in the tournament when they aren't making everything they throw at the hoop, and the reffing isn't lopsided we'll see just how good they truly are. I hope they win it all again, but they were wearing glass slippers last night.
The team just needs to flush this and move on. Team play has greatly improved and they are heading in the right direction. Keep playing hard and take it out on Cal.

We are not elite, but we are getting better. We have to win vs Cal, and 1 of 2 on the road. Then we need to win our 1st game at a minimum in the PAC-12 tournament. Less than that, and we are likely NIT bound. This is the best Stanford team I have seen in 7 years. No weaknesses. Deepest bench of any team I can remember. No shame in the loss last night. Was proud of the progress our freshman made last night against an elite team. Greta had her best game in a while. AJ too. I was bummed that Rueck did not have his best & quickest defenders on the floor in Q4. Greta and AJ should have been on the floor as they played the best defense vs Stanford's perimeter players last night. As long as the OSU WBB keeps their chin up, we can win the next 3 games.

So they're right there with us. Of course, their opponents had 374, while ours had 199.
