What are the keys to victory Friday night? Scoring more points that Stanford. :-) Seriously however, I think you need to do two things just to have a chance to win. 1 - Limit Brink as much as possible. If Brink is dominating down low it kills OSU's defense which is predicated on protecting the rim. We probably have to hold Stanford under 65 to win, and if Brink is going for 16+ I think it's impossible. 2 - Limit turnovers. Stanford is so tough if they get out in transition. Gotta take care of the ball. From there is hoping we get some continued good shooting from Ellie Mack and hopefully one other person besides Talia scoring. Stanford missing some jump shots would help as well.

Limit turnovers of course, 10 or less. At least rebound even with Stanford and don't give many second chance pts off the O-glass. Shoot decently from 3, 38-40%. Keep Stanford around 60 pts and we might have a puncher's chance. Not going to bet any money on this one though.

Limit turnovers. Have a plan for the increased defensive intensity that Stanford can throw at teams. Drive to the basket like they did with game two in Eugene.

Someone other than Talia needs to have a hot hand so they can't constantly double team her. If Greta could have a good game that would open it up for Talia.
If the Beav's can turn around the rebounding like they did against the Ducks. In particular limit offensive rebounds.
Turn around the inside defense like we did against the Ducks. Stanford outscored the Beav's 45 to 18. They shredded our interior D. That happens again we've lost.
That last game was the first time Haley came out on top of Taya. Come ON Taya, show her who's the boss!!

Get back on defense, and that's easier said than done against Stanford. They have a very strong fast break game, and score a ton of points that way. Force them into a half court game, and don't let them get the ball inside - once again, easier said than done.
They're just better than us. We'll need a Mary Poppins game, and they'll need to shoot in the low 30's.

Block Shots // We're good at it.
O-Boards // We need to put up more shots than Stanford.
Paint Touches // Middle drives to kick-out or play through bigs from the elbows as passers into post splits, pin-downs, and pistol actions.
Never dribble across half court // Gotta send it up the floor. Keep as much (scoring) speed on the floor as possible: Greta, Ellie, AJ.
Make one player beat us // I'd look at Jones or Brink then shut everyone else down. This is a great way to try and keep them under 80 pts.

I'm hoping Jelena gets some decent minutes in the Stanford game. Jelena needs to continue to go against top BIGs, so Jelena is ready for the upcoming PAC-12 and NCAA Tournament Teams.

If she gets the ball at the top of the key and they sag off of her, she needs to take that shot. She can make that shot, she just needs to build her confidence up. A couple times in the duck game, she was wide open there, nobody around her and she chose to pass it to someone else.

Too late to edit the original post... Some good stuff in this one regarding Andrea. For one... there's "been talk" about her getting a brief appearance in game. Also, it was OSU that wouldn't let her play... she could have transferred elsewhere, but chose not to. He also talks about her contributions to the team, as does Ellie.
