Looks like a longshot to the dance this season with 4 games coming up against Stanford and Oregon. Next year, will be better with return of Taylor and 2 all American recruits. Will be hungry and motivated to win.

16-3 in turnovers. They got way more shots and are lore athletic. He needs to open things up. We are not very good at crunch time. Lost 4 th quarter by 10. I have gotten so I won’t waste the time to watch. The sad thing is some of You blame officials, bad luck ,injuries etc. Scot needs to change to his talent. Plodding along asks for turnovers. The league and Women’s basketball is getting speedier not slower. I really liked Scot Rueck when He came. I did notice at the time his Teams scored in the 60’s a lot. Leopards do not change their stripes. He needs to hire better assistants and open up the offense by simplifying it. Amen!

Telling my wife the same. We have virtually no free shots. They are all over us being aggressive especially on the outside. Our outside defense we are 4 to 5 feet off the ball. OSU is doing a great job of battling. The referee crap just is lame and diminishes a great, physical, tourney type game. This is exactly how you want to see OSU play on the road vs a highly ranked team. Team had some very good moments, and some ugly stuff as well. Not bad against a very good team in their arena. As a fan, I'm just thankful that the players haven't decided that the season is "Officially Over".

Both teams committed 15 personal fouls and the Beavs shot one more free throw then Arizona so the Ref excuse doesn't really fly. The big disparity is 16 turnovers to 3. Either SR doesn't feel he has the athletes to play pressure defense, or it is just not part of his coaching philosophy, probably more the latter. It has been discussed many times before, but I would like to see us play what is now more the norm in the game of WBB, that is playing more pressure D and up-tempo on offense, but if it hasn't happened yet, it probably never will. Somewhere there is a happy medium between what has worked in the past and being flexible and adjusting to an evolving game.

Last season OSU shot .396 for 3-pointers.
This season (through ASU) OSU shooting .328.
Wonder how many games would have been W’s last year if they’d shot .328 from 3?

Obviously turnovers hurt us throughout, but we also had some missed assignments on defense towards the end of the game. Tea sagging off a dead ball with the shot clock winding down, giving her opponent a wide open look at the 3 to send AZ back up by 6 late in the 4th… ouch. We should be putting the pressure on in those types of moments. That’s when the game really started to take a turn for the worse IMO.

When the other team gets up 21 more shots things usually don't end well. Whatever the reason why that happened.

I am not the one that wants a house cleaning on all the assistant coaches. Couple of others want that.

Just can't figure out why SR, who truly controls the offensive sets, continues to have this team gun away?
19 of 43 shot attempts are 3's, bigs go 7/9 and only get 9 shot attempts. Others go 12/34. It's a season long deficiency that is ignored. This team isn't going to suddenly become highly efficient from the outside.
Jelena could have scored at will. Brown also highly efficient. TC basically never entered the paint and disappeared on offense.

Scott has always been in love with the 3. Unfortunately he does not have the shooters to rely on that strategy. Real good coaches change offense and defense to suit the talent on the team. I'm not sure Scott can change.

I'm not sure Scott can change. That and the best coaches adjust to the times. Saban went from running a conservative game management offense to going to a wide up high-flying offense once he saw that the game had changed.

After watching parts of Arizona and Oregon’s game, our game was much more competetive than I had expected. We competed hard for three quarters and things got away from us in the fourth.
Arizona’s athletic, veteran play was too much to overcome on the road. In the past we’ve been able to counteract turnovers with large rebounding and field goal percentage margins, but this team can’t do that.
Side note: Arizona has four senior starters, three of which still have a remaining year of eligibility (Reese, Pellington, and Yeaney - Thomas is currently using her fifth year). Will be interesting to see what their roster looks like next year. Barnes has a superb class coming in, so I don’t anticipate there being much of a drop off regardless.
