Did Greta play in the second half? If she did, it sure wasn't much. I don't understand that. Ellie and Taya were both playing great, so I can see not playing her at the wing. So put her in the backcourt with Talia and get her some touches. Instead you play Emily Codding, shooting 28.3% on the year (18.2% on 3's)? Emily's going to be gone in several weeks; Greta's the future. Play her. According to the final stats: 2nd half minutes Marotte 3 min Greta 4 min Adams 4 min Brown 5 min EC 13 min JM 15 min EM 16 min TC 20 min TV 20 min

VERY IMPRESSED today with these combinations Kennedy / Mitrovic Taya TVO GRETA / AJ Mack
This group , for the first time, showed a real team connection in all facets of the game . Yes, there were some silly turnovers because of poor entry passes ... but most of the entry passes and fast breaks were spot on and would have worked against anyone. Both Kennedy and Jelena had some horrific fouls called on them. I am excited to watch this team continue to grow and, of course, look forward to Taylor's return (fingers crossed ) Go Beavers - time to turn the heat up !

Rueck answers a question in the press conference that explains it. Greta and AJ will get their turn, both are amazing players but the game hasn't slowed down for them.

Jelena is really grabbing the ball with authority! She has such a loose grip in the ball when she first arrived, wow has that changed - love to see it! UCLA would swipe at her all the time, and she was on the verge of feeding them elbows at times. Very impressed with her progress on ball security.

It's always fun when the Beavs are on offense in front of UCLA's bench to watch Close's reactions. And it's not just on breakdowns/mistakes. It's seemingly on every OSU made shot. LOL Nice catch Werebeaver!....that is so funny to watch her reactions in the background of these 2 clips!

If Mitrovic makes a leap like Hamblin did I'll be thrilled, I just don't expect it. I'm surprised you are so pessimistic on her. She's shown flashes this year of having significantly more upside vs. Hamblin IMO. I think it's in the realm of possibility that she becomes the Arvydas Sabonis of OSU WBB by her Sr year.

Lol... that maybe the most overtly over the top assertion of "possibility". Humor?? Sabonis was considered the best player in the world by many. She will improve, but... yeah not in the realm of any world's possibility! Not, even at the level of Domantas. Not Marie. Not Carol. Not Ruth.

Aryvdas was considered to be the best big man in the world for a number of years. I might be guilty of being pessimistic, but I'd say you're being way over the top optimistic with that comparison. Or did you mean the version of Arvydas that finally showed up and played for the Blazers and was still skilled, but completely broken down physically?

Taya has such a smooth effortless shooting stroke on both free throws and threes. No wasted motion. KB should try and emulate that.
And Jelena! She almost dribbled on a couple of her post moves but caught herself and finished the move without putting the ball on the floor, so she must be working on that. A small sign of progress there.

I liked in the presser when a reporter asked Rueck why there was such a spurt of Beav scoring in the 4th quarter. Rueck said hmmm, not really sure, looked at Talia and asked if she knew. Talia said "oh yeah, when we went to the zone UCLA started to crash the offensive boards so when we got the ball we could push the ball up court and get the fast break points". Rueck just grinned and looked like the proud teacher.

In a recent game I watched her reach out and take a ball away with one hand, caught the opponent off guard, amused me. different subject: Maybe I misinterpreted this on TV, but in the 4th Q, Jelena looked like she was fed up with a ref and started walking towards them and TVO got in between and slowed her down.
