There is a reason we can't recruit a top tier point guard. Not going to mention a name but he is like 5 6, nearly bald, and sits on the bench. Does he swim too?

Without Taylor in the post it is like we don't have anyone that can play offense with their back against the rim. i would put Ellie and Talia in the post on offense to get something going inside. Kennedy and Jelena are face up players and not comfortable in the paint. Without a post threat Rueck's offense stalls. without a post offensive threat and combined without a point guard you see what you see today.

Like somebody said the season records are trending from good to mediocre to ??

I am so baffled why Kennedy isn't more of a scoring threat inside or out. She has tremendous athleticism for her size, yet the ball just seems to come off her hands really inconsistently. I was hoping all her rehab time would allow her to really groove some post moves, and it just hasn't happened.

Considering this is virtually the same WSU team that we lost to twice a season ago with Aleah, Sasha, and Taylor, this is about the outcome I would have expected -- particularly when we shoot 8.3% from three.
Surprisingly, OSU was only outscored by one point in the final three quarters. Reminded my a little bit of our loss at WSU a season ago.
When we weren't turning the ball over and getting shot clock violations, we got some decent looks that wouldn't fall.

Maybe it's time for this team to quit posting silly videos on Twitter (as if nothing's wrong) and instead double down on practicing 3s. Keep shooting them until the lights are turned off and they get kicked out of the gym. A shooting percentage like today is just not acceptable at any college level, let alone on a PAC-12 team like the Beavs.
What ever is wrong, fix it. It may take a year or two, but fix it.
And yes, Taylor's absence is huge, and we need to remember that.

I didn’t watch the game as I was at work. So disappointing about the team with some 5 star players from HS. How they don’t play like one with the Beavers? Already stopped watch men basketball for the season and women was my only hope to enjoy. Now, waiting for baseball season to start. Hope women can turn around soon.

Not necessarily in reaction this specific game, but the season in general. I would go young. Move on from Tea, Noelle, and Emily. Live thru the challenges that will come with the freshman and go all in with TVO, Greta, and AJ. They will not be any worse. And over time will be better and will be much more ready when the all-americans come in next year (and Taylor is back.)

When we weren't turning the ball over and getting shot clock violations, we got some decent looks that wouldn't fall. Yea, that's a good point. We generally seem to be hexed up there: 2012: W: 51-39: (1-24 from deep) 2013: L: 73-76 (6-14 from deep) 2014: W: 67-53 (4-13) 2015: W: 61-56 (6-23) 2016: W: 54-45 (6-19 from deep) 2017: No game in Palouse 2018: W: 63-61 (6-22 from deep) 2019: W: 52-35 (5-17 from deep) 2020: No game in Palouse 2021: L: 61-55 (5-14 from deep) 2022: L: 51-58 (1-12 from deep) So that's not even our worst 3 pt shooting performance in the last decade in the Palouse. Our worse is 4%, and our best is a very respectable 43% clear back in 2013. But our decade+ average of 25% 3 pt shooting at the Palouse, which includes some very good shooting teams, leads me to believe we should game-plan away from a deep game on that court.

At this point, OSU needs to play zone defense because we cannot defend a basic screen and roll. It has been this way all season. We are much better in the zone than man-to-man. Defense isn't our largest issue, but still a problem. Don't know where to start on offense, other than I didn't see any offensive structure in this game. It was a high-ball screen that was totally ineffective. I think OSU would have been more effective just rolling out the ball in a "pick-up" game offense.

Watching this game and the last one, I find myself doing a complete 180 in my thinking. This is a poorly coached team this year, period. Nothing on the offensive end looks planned, ball movement is close to non-existent, spacing is poor, players just stand around and they look like they're not even sure they're standing around in the right spot, and the turnover numbers are horrendous. I don't pretend to have the answers, but, then again, I'm not paid to have them. It looks to me, however, like our individual players aren't developing, our team isn't developing, and we look worse with each passing week rather than better. At this moment in time, I am very disappointed with this team. Actually I am more disappointed with the coaching. But why is it poor coaching this year as you pointed out, what changed in your opinion? It just feels the team has no grit or fight but I am not sure why?
Lost 2 assistants, brought in 2 new ones. Maybe everybody on the coaching staff isn't on the same page of the book? If you're old enough, you'll remember when USC used to be called Tailback U and they ran student body right or left. They used to come up to the line of scrimmage and just about tell the other team, "We're gonna run the ball right over there; you try to stop us." Works just great until, eventually, it doesn't. Then you either adjust or you lose. Maybe the world has our offense figured out, we don't have the right players to run that offense, but we're not adjusting. As I said, I don't have the answers. It looks like it's going to be a rough year, though.

Other than Taya Corosdale, play our young ones, and lets see where we end up at end of the season.

Awful offense today. The ball movement was slow and they didn't see the court well at all. Adams got to the hoop a couple of times but didn't read the help and tried to pass when she should have scored. The team was a step slow in everything today, hopefully a much better performance Friday evening.

Not much more to say. We need a less controlled offense and real penetrating point guards. Why when a player gets to the basket pass it off turning the ball over baffles Me. Offense needs to be in motion to susede. To stand there dribbling the ball why no one moves in unthinkable. Happened a few times. Turnovers should not be over 8 to 10 a game if You played uptempo. We do not and still manage turnovers and few assists. Recruit a Point guard that is a person of color snd tall and quick. Short and quick is ok too.
